Kavanaugh Confirmation

Actually you’ve only got a chance at the house anyway Barney. Tell me... how many house members vote on SCOTUS appointments hmmm?
I think the house may have some other powers that may come into play. Plus, not sure the senate is out of play.

Dont get reality mixed up with your wet dreams , you may well get the house so you can clog up everything and make sure nothing gets done in congress but the senate ... you should worry more about defending what seats you have instead of gaining seats .

If I wrote a letter of this magnatude I wouldn’t have gone with the “leave me out of it” approach. She can tell her side all she wants but it’s now irrelevant to the conversation and shouldn’t be considered in the confirmation hearings. If she wanted it as part of the discussion then she should have made an issue long ago instead of playing a game

Agreed with you..and GV. When you write the letter, "leave me out of it" goes out the door. She had to know there was no way that would hold up. So now it's down to how credible you, and the evidence, are under examination.

If this is (yet) another ploy by the Democratic machine and it's minions, then this should serve as final, conclusive evidence that the current leaders and members of the Democratic Party cannot be trusted to act in the best interests of this nation.

Not that I need another nail in that coffin, but it had to be said.

But if there's meat on that bone, then let us see it for ourselves. I have no problem with the truth...provided it's the truth.

CNN already got their marching orders and carrying the water pail

https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/16/poli...-anita-hill-misconduct-allegations/index.html

The give away. Only one side has done anything partisan in this process:

"But partisanship could counteract that phenomenon. Republicans have been banding together at every turn of the already tumultuous Kavanaugh nomination. GOP senators brushed off Democratic complaints about the speed of the hearings and the withholding of documents from the nominee's more than five years in the George W. Bush administration."

No acknowledgment of the attempt to label K. a liar. No critique of any partisanship in how Feinstein handled this. Hell, many of the Dems on this board have been more fair minded on this than this CNN article.

There’s already people convinced she’s telling the truth and they have no idea what she has to say.
Nope. She new the time frame. Everyone did. If she felt it was important she would have pushed the issue weeks ago.

No, at this point it doesn’t matter as her credibility is shot.

Doesn't help matters that she would oppose his nomination strictly based on ideology.

I agree a closed door session should be involved. On both sides of that equation.

But you know as well as I do the problem is the "facts" will get twisted around by both sides in such a thing.

GV I normally agree with the majority of what you say in here. This time I don't and here is why. When she came out publicy, all pretense of her not testifying in public went out the window. she interjected herself into the conversation, so now light should shine on the situation so the American people can here her story. No closed hearings, no twisting of her words by corrupt Congress critters, just her story under oath, in front of the people
