Kavanaugh Confirmation

Depends on the details (which we'll never know) but we still don't know what "forced himself on her" means. Was he trying to take his clothes off and rape her - if we knew that then he's disqualified for sure. Was he trying to kiss her and she refused but interpreted that as him forcing himself on her - if that's the case then we move on.

The problem is that the accuser doesn't want to discuss it, we only know about the allegation details from people who are against Kavanuagh paraphrasing it, K has denied it and there is no way to further investigate since the accuser doesn't want to do so.

I hope to hell this isn't the new standard in politics but of course it will be and the various bases will totally rationalize and justify it when their team uses it.

Investigating it would be virtually impossible now even if the accuser did come forward.

I have no idea what he has or doesn't have. I do know when he writes stories about powerful men and sexual assault it usually doesn't end well for the man.

K wasn't a powerful man at 17.

I'm betting the Dem's who talked to him chose him because of his reputation. Lot's of strategy around this.

Not when you realize that partisan hacks are the ones who decided what to withhold. Pretty obvious they kept back that which would hurt his chances. Surely even you would acknowledge that.
That's akin to Butch Jones calling another coach corny.

Well, some witnesses could be found. It's suggested she's sought therapy for this - with her permission that could be validated. In the end it's he said, she said but we won't even get that.

K. may be a casualty in this new reality of accusations are sufficient.

Pretty much. The bar gets lowered every election cycle now it seems.

It dont have to be true or even backed up with actual facts anymore. It just has to be brought up by the right person and it inches more toward probable from possible.

Sounds awesome.

What does Rush Say about how the Leftwing Media and DEMs justify it?: "It's the seriousness of the charge that matters."

It would be tragic if this brings him down. No man would be safe.

The process is the tragedy. If he was established as guilty of attempted rape then he should be brought down. However we still have no understanding of what is really being alleged and there will be no opportunity for the accused to defend himself.

So what's your take on this and the process?
To be completely honest, it does seem like Feinstein was holding this back to delay the confirmation. Substantively, I just don't know enough about the allegations, corroboration, etc to know who to believe, the accuser or Kavanaugh. Regardless, I don't think the alleged conduct, even if true, is enough to stop the nomination (unless others come out with similar stories thereby demonstrating a pattern of conduct).
