Murray And Pollack

Running scared from what? We have been a cellar dwellar for 10 years. Pruitt has a high ceiling and is a defensive mastermind but is completely unknown as a head coach.

2017 yes we were dead last! I agree with you.
2016 9-4 (4-4) 2nd in East
2015 9-4 (5-3) 2nd in East
2014 7-6 (3-5) 4th in East
2013 5-7 (2-6) 5th in East CBJ 1st yr.
2012 5-7 (1-7) 5th in East Dools last yr.
2011 5-7 (1-7) 6th in East

2010 6-7 (3-5) 4th in East Dools 1st yr
2009 7-6 (4-4) 3rd in East Kiffy only yr
2008 5-7 (3-5) 4th in East PF last yr
2007 10-4(6-2) 1st in East Last 10 win season!

2011 to 2013 and 2017 were the yrs that are hard to explain. Dools sucked! CBJ had the ship going in the right direction 2013-2016 was yr over yr improvement in record, stupid losses and key player injuries and transfers cost him!

JP comes in with low expectations for yr 1. Honestly if we get to 7 this yr I will be happy and a bowl game. 2019 should show vast improvement though and beyond. We have talent but we changing complete schemes on both sides of the ball which could be great or disastrous for yr 1.

I'm hopeful saying 8-4 however I think with some breaks and no key injuries, 9-3 is doable.

So your logic is that every close loss is a choke? Not sure I buy that train of thought. UGA wasn’t supposed to win the natty last year, let alone the SEC, so I wouldn’t really consider losing in OT by 3 a choke. I mean bama was up on Clemson the same amount the year before going into the fourth quarter, did they choke? Does Kirby get credit for the half time adjustments against OU, or did OU just choke? I can understand disagreeing with Murray, but not really sure I’d buy that Kirby “chokes” games away, especially after the season he just had. Richt was/is a choker, so far I’d say Kirby hasn’t.

2nd and 26. Only 1 thing to do. DONT GET BEAT DEEP. That's choking.

The Hail Mary game against UT was 3 mins of atrocious coaching (both sides). Noone was in front of JJ. Throwing out of endzone when you couldnt guard Barnett. The 2 penalties last 10 secs.

Against Vandy, you didnt give ball to Chubb or Michel on 4th and inches. Masons first SEC road win.

Losing 13 pt 4th quarter lead to a GT team that cant pass.

There's losses and then theres those 4. Butch choked away way too many as well.

I seriously doubt that Pruitt will ever beat UGA or Bama while he is head coach at UTK.

There is a lot of talk on the rf about looking at who else has given a prospect a committable offer rather than star ratings. Who else put a legitimate offer on Pruitt's plate? I just don't see where some of you are coming from with the expectations for Pruitt.

I’m still trying to figure out who your favorite college football team is .

Who cares what Pollack and Murray say, they could care less about the Vols. A couple of ex-ego homers that are Georgia and nothing else. GO Coach Pruitt and GBO!!!!

Pruitt knows what it means to play and coach in the SEC

He succeeded as a coach everywhere he's been

He understands what it takes to win at the highest levels and win championships

He surrounded himself with an SEC quality coaching staff

His Athletic Director isn't just another MBA in a suit, but a sports professional, someone committed to winning championships. Fulmer knows what's needed to win at Tennessee, and like Doug Dickey, he has sat in the head coach's chair. That should give Pruitt a huge edge.

Isn't it crazy hearing what is roundly extreme support and praise for Fulmer being AD from most UT fans and other SEC folks + press, and how he's calmed down the craziness, but folks at UT couldn't recognize that, all along...which would have helped to avoid one of the most embarrassing events in UT sports history (coaching search/Currie firing).

Come on Bone, step away from the darkside.

Pollack also has an unwillingness or inability to differentiate between types of rebuilding jobs, which McElroy was trying to educate him on. He insinuated that Tennessee should more or less be a big time program again by year 2 (probably because that's what Georgia did last year), and if not then Pruitt isn't the guy.

This is not a Kirby at Georgia, Urban at Ohio St, or Saban at Alabama rebuilding job. This rebuilding job is more similar to what Dabo inherited at Clemson, except we are worse than Clemson was when Dabo took over.

If there are not obvious strides ahead by year 2 and especially year 3, then Pruitt probably isn't the guy. But for Pollack to suggest that Tennessee should be "back" after only 1 rebuilding year is an ignorant statement, or a statement he is making out of emotion.
Has less to do with UT and where it is and more to do with his personal beef with Pruitt.

Hes setting the table to throw rocks at him if he doesn't clear the high bar quickly.

As I stated earlier. He's a jackass.

Doesn’t jibe with his initial reaction to the hire, tho. Methinks he hit the sauce with some fellow alums and “research” happened. The main thing that separates him (other than talent) from McElroy is at least the appearance of being able to analyze OBJECTIVELY. He’s at the level of boozed up fanboy talking **** at a bar.

The panel this morning mimics the two Game Day programs on ESPN/SECN except they add Fowler and Corso. The perfect way to deal with them is to turn on NBCSN and watch the Premier League. The football Saturday shows have made me an avid futbol fan. That way my bp doesn't spike until much later.

You guys said the same ish about Lyle- everybody was scared. Schools like UGA and FL aren't scared even when we are decent, just like we aren't of them.

I wouldn't know. Didn't hear his opinion of Pruitt before hand. Just caught this one on this board.

His jackass status remains intact however.

Praised the hire. Someone posted Tweets when UGA and Tennessee hired him...both glowing.

NBCSN's coverage of BPL is world-class. Everyone should emulate them. I usually watch the Saturday morning match before the 11am kickoffs. Gameday is trash by comparison.

Hilarious to hear UGA fans and ex players talk about Pruitt's demeanor and how much he disrespected Richt when they were the ones holding the pitchforks, running him out of town after a 10 win season

Report: Could Jeremy Pruitt be fired at UGA today?

Here is some of the context from the fallout, isn’t something new, much ado about nothing in my opinion. Everyone already knows his rep is he doesn’t get along with others, that isn’t newsbreaking. BUT, he wasn’t the guy, he was the subordinate. Most people who become boss change their view and their attitude. I think just something to get clicks imo. Nothing that happened at Ga is going to matter what he does at Tn, I’d say Pruitt has changed, if he hasn’t, we all will be witnesses...

They didn’t say this **** when JP was coaching at Bama. They’re a bunch of whiny *****es

And if they're offended by the way cjp treated their coach, then how do they feel about the university of Georgia and the way they treated their coach.
