Yep.I think it has to do with they are offended with the way CJP's relationship was with Mark Richt. Richt was their coach and CJP made waves challenging the expectations and the way Richt handled business at Georgia.
I've yet to hear either one say CJP isn't a good coach. They just don't like the way he dealt with their coach.
Pollack didn't have anything to say, really. And Murray is carrying water for Richt.
There is no real revelation in either comment.
Both of these guys are saying almost the same thing and from my standpoint, they seem to be scared UT is going to be back and Pruitt will be at the helm.
I hope CJP is the man and every fiber in my body says he is. I didn't want CPF fired so I was in a small minority, but I see a brash young, hungry, relentless, and true football coach that will right the ship,
I think UGA as a whole is running scared. These two mouth pieces are spouting this and that but funny neither were there when Coach Pruitt was the coach, and funny all the defensive players lobbied for Pruitt to take over for Mark.
Something else that's funny is all Pruitt's ex players love the man, I mean love the man. UGA was lazy on defense when Pruitt joined that team and took them from 50th to 5th in the country. Call me a homer but I was sold when I saw his approach to the game as HC in his pressers and spring practice. You wanted a coach to tell you what is what then you have him. You may not like what he has to say but I can tell you this and will take money on this, this man will succeed at UT.
Smart doesn't care for Pruitt, it's a well known fact, BAD BLOOD, and if you think for one second CJP doesn't have the UGA game circled and the Bama game also on his calendar then you're kidding yourself. CJP is a winner through and through and if you want to listen to a has been (Murray), and while Pollack suffered a horrendous injury that ended his career as the pulse of the media then you are mistaken. UGA is scared....plain and simple and I for one love it. Never understood my wife's hatred for UGA but I get it now.
Sorry So Long....... Soap box is in the corner... I won't bring it out again
TLDR after the scarred statement. I don't think they are scared. It may be more personal to those 2, because they felt Pru disrespected Mark. It was said indirectly, Saban and Mark, were total opposites. One soft, the other hard. Pru came from the hard knocks. Obviously the personalities clashed. With those 2 being coached under Mark, they took it personal. Probably because they were thinned skinned from being coached by a soft guy? Players usually love their coaches, so they came to his defense. Nothing to see here
The truth is we all HOPE Jeremy Pruitt can turn this program around but we been hoping for the same thing since Kiffin, Dooley and gotdayum Butch took the HC'ing job. I won't believe it until I see it myself. Nothing short of an SEC Title will show that Tenn football has returned to prominence. If we were in Bama or UGA shoes right now I'd be trolling and mocking our opponents just like Murray and Pollack. Cockiness comes with the territory, first we got to win championships. Not sure Pruitt is the answer but I suppose we will have to wait and see. As to your the OP's assumption that UGA is scared, they beat us 41-0 in our own backyard last season. It was our worst loss at home to UGA since 1922. We had 7 freaking first downs and 142 yards total offense! I doubt Tenn is a cause for any concern right now for Kirby Smart.Running scared from what? We have been a cellar dwellar for 10 years. Pruitt has a high ceiling and is a defensive mastermind but is completely unknown as a head coach.
Are u seriousI seriously doubt that Pruitt will ever beat UGA or Bama while he is head coach at UTK.
There is a lot of talk on the rf about looking at who else has given a prospect a committable offer rather than star ratings. Who else put a legitimate offer on Pruitt's plate? I just don't see where some of you are coming from with the expectations for Pruitt.
Also, Pollack says Tennessee doesn't have players to run a pro-style offense. If he thinks for a second the personnel we have are more suited to a spread/read option offense, or some other type of offense, the guy really knows nothing about Tennessee or football generally.
Did he see our likely starter at QB play last year, or know what type of WRs Callaway and Jennings are? They are not guys well-suited to playing a spread style, despite Guarantano being touted as a dual threat QB as a recruit. Our offensive line is simply bad no matter what scheme we play.
I think he's saying we don't have the players to run any type of offense. To the bulletin board!

McElroy nailed it toward the end of the UT section of the ESPN broadcast. Overachieve. Overachieve.
That's where some saw through Jones but too many didn't. He underachieved every year.
Who gives three flying f...s what Murray or Pollack thinks?
A "good" coach would have won 6 or 7 in the first year with that OL. He actually had a little talent on D too. Instead, his "coaching up" actually coached them down."Only" in 2016 and 2017. I actually thought he did a pretty good job in 2013 and 2014 and gave him benefits of the doubt in 2015 (the blown leads) because it looked like the team was still learning how to close out those types of games. They clearly never learned how to though.
Pollack brings nothing to the table IMO. Why and how he ever got on Gameday has always been a mystery. Must be some big dog's nephew bc he has no talent.
