AP-NORC Poll: Support soars for stricter gun control laws

"...More than 8 in 10 Americans favor a federal law preventing mentally ill people from purchasing guns, along with a federal law expanding background check requirements to include gun shows and private sales.

Nearly 8 in 10 favor allowing courts to prevent people from owning guns if considered a danger to themselves or others, even if they have not been convicted of a crime. And 7 in 10 favor a nationwide ban on devices known as “bump stocks” that allow semi-automatic guns to function like automatic guns.

Nearly 6 in 10 favor a nationwide ban on AR-15-style rifles.

“They should take them off the market. Too much power right there,” 25-year-old Sedrick Clark, of St. Louis Missouri, said of AR-15s."

What does AR-15 style mean? Is that the mythical "Assault weapon"? Or are you just wanting to get anything that looks scary off the "Streets"..? :eek:lol:

The reported publics knee jerk reaction to what amounts to an insignificant loss of life in the grand scheme of things is laughable.

Hmmm... got a kid? His/her singular murder would be even less significant, huh?

Peoples kids have a better chance of dying in an accident than a school shooting.

More kids commit suicide than die in school shootings.

More people die from heart disease than school shootings..

Again, ignore the mental health aspect of it all and take the easiest path possible, ban muh guns!! Its no wonder left wingers lead miserable lives. You people literally cannot make smart or tough decisions. You do the easiest thing possible then cry like infants with soiled diapers when life flips you the bird.

So, if your child were murdered by a nutball with an AR15, you're good with that, since hey, there were other more probable causes of death that would potentially kill him/her in the future anyway?

You enjoy leisurely rounds of golf during thunderstorms, too?

Insanity.

I wouldn't be ok with my kid getting killed you dumbass. The matter with which it is done is insignificant because they are dead. The person/persons responsible would hopefully face justice.

Do you read what you type? Do you even think about what you type before typing it?

Its amazing how you are willing to completely ignore the person committing crimes but blame the tool used. You're insane.

Id love to hear your take on domestic abuse! Is it the mans fault or just his hand/belt/fist/table leg/wooden spatula/iron/shoe/etc?

Yes, insane people exist. I'm not terribly insane though, sorry.

Understand that, yes, the type of weapon IS important when in the hands of an insane killer who wants to commit mass murder. Not a targeted killing or revenge killing, but mass, random killing. They choose assault style rifles because they can inflict the most amount of damage in the shortest period of time, barring bombs.

You sure about this, Sparky?

Or just another liberal talking point that's based on the same faith one might have in a unicorn or an honest politician?

Convincing yourself that you have a monopoly on the truth is a sign of mental illness.

This was a pretty cut and dried issue. Creating an equilateral triangle with a compass and a straight edge. Not a lot of room for opinion and interpretation.

Continually refusing to accept a recognizable and widely accepted fact is also a sign of mental illness.

Once Grand Vol calls you Sparky, you have him on the ropes. It's one of hit tells.

Sometimes. My nickname game is admittedly week, Buddy.

See? Buddy just doesn't work.

Your troll game in this thread is incredibly weak.

Your knowledge of the subject at hand is incredibly weak. And trying to continue in a discussion you are admittedly ignorant of is weak. But you keep proving your ignorance (along with others) day in and day out by continuing to post day in and day out about a subject you are not even inclined enough to study. The absolute definition of troll.

Perhaps one day you'll grow up and see such actions are childish.

Have you wondered why you sound stupid discussing firearms?

About as stupid as those who continue to rail on about banning bump stocks when, in fact, that happened a couple of days ago.

One might think they would keep up with the news or something and claim a victory over such acts.

LMAO. Hog, my post was 100% cut and paste. Channel your inner anger elsewhere. I would ask you to actually state what you disagree with, but that wouldn't jibe with your rhetoric mantras.
