No.....they have to be on campus to be in UT's S&C program. Many, (a whopping large %), are currently enjoying the Holidays with family members. Is that your only bullet ? Digging pretty deep to come up with another answer, I suppose.
you don't have to be in Knoxville do do any of that, and i'd reckon he probably has all that anyway.
the program is not sitting still. it's not like there's a whole staff of people sitting in an office making paper airplanes, playing paper football, waiting on CJP to come back to work so they'll have some direction and be able to do anything.
this picture you paint, "if you're not getting better, you're getting worse" is just not fact based, given the time of year it is, and really, what is truly going on.
students are on winter break, some players aren't even on campus. you can't actively recruit.
the only thing that is being missed right now is the S&C, and i'm not sure how active that would be during winter break anyway.
he's hired all but 2 positions on the staff, they signed 14 prospects for the ESD.
and the rest of the staff is actively sending scholarship offers to prospects almost daily....so there's plenty of evaluating going on.
but, again, you get to believe what you want. and if you want to believe we're getting worse by the day........that's cool.
i haven't ignored anything. i posted this several pages back (w/out prompt from you) regarding the S&C.I've given a good reason that you and Jake have skipped multiple times. His staff is incomplete in major areas
Your point is everything is in top shape and there is nothing for him to do right now.
If that isn't your point, then he should be here.
Not compicated.
that's not my point. and not even close to what i've said.
i've said it's not as big a deal as you think it is....and given you plenty of logical reasons why i think so.
you said organizational philosophy......priorities......standards.....
which could mean anything to anyone depending on how one decides to use them, as evidenced by the way you've chosen to.
i haven't ignored anything. i posted this several pages back (w/out prompt from you) regarding the S&C.
i responded directly to your point about it.
and i still don't know how big a deal it is during winter break to not have an S&C coach.
and if we get a big time S&c coach after the playoff, would that still not be best case scenario long term, regardless of what has been missed in the last 3 weeks off season conditioning program?
Our players were some of the weakest and worst conditioned in the conference. They have likely gone over a month without being told to work out. Even when they were told last season we saw the results. Getting them in shape for spring should be a top priority but is pretty hard to do from Tuscaloosa. When you start behind everyone else it doesn't help to take some time off
Is that not a tangible enough reason for you?
Pruitt actually has a bigger job which involves hiring a s&c coach. He has yet to do that. Who is currently managing the off season conditioning program?
And Ut could have hired a goat and you would devote unfettered allegiance to it.
I was proposing it as the hypothetical, not as what you said.
Ut is either better off with him here full time or part time.
I say full time and no one can argue that. Given That, there is no reason to defend the part time bs.
you have no idea what you're talking about. but you know that already because of our past conversations on CBJ.
of course, the same could be said, about you...it won't matter who we hire, you'd hate him from the word jump just be the contrarian on the off chance you'd be right so in 3 years you could say "i told you so".
talk about BVS and having low expectations. you have the lowest expectations of anyone on this board....no one gets a freaking chance, they're all doomed for failure, and everyone sucks.
and that's just how it is.
Volnation,
I know that CJP has caught a ton of crap over staying at BAMA to finish their season and coming here full time since he was introduced. I personally do not feal that way. I really respect that CJP decided to finish what he started with the kids he recruited. I think this is going to mean something to a top recruit in the years to come. That his family can believe what he is saying because he is a man of character. I don't expect him to win a natty within 2 years here but I do expect him to do what he says and bring my beloved university back to its place among the top programs in the country.
I don't want BAMA to win ever but I am not stupid and the level of success the program has had is unbelievable. If we can take some of that and mulitilpy it here in KTown we are going to be in business.
I love my vols forever.
