No Lane Kiffin will forever be the worst hire in our history. Messing that hire up is what got us to this point.

You’re out of your mind if you think Steele with Tee isn’t a good hire though. That would be an obvious line of succession and would provide a great deal of stability to a program that desperately needs it.

Are you on drugs?

I gotta say, floating Kevin Steele is a pretty good strategy for making literally anyone else look good.

"Would you like a poop sandwich?"

"Gross."

"How about a peanut butter sandwich?"

"It doesn't have poop in it, right?"

"Nope!"

"I mean. Yeah. I want that peanut butter one."

Potential questions to Fulmer/Steele

"What makes Steele qualified with 1 more conference win than me?"

"Who makes HC decisions if Steele passes out during the game?"

"Is a win percentage of 20% acceptable at UT?"

No I’m just capable of higher order thinking.

If we bring in Steele with Tee then it’s obvious what’s going on. Steele is here for a few years to allow tee to be in Knoxville and get the hang of things so he can become head coach.

I don’t think that’s the best way of doing it. I would just hire tee but if Fulmer wants to have him in a head-coach-in-waiting roll then I’d be ok with it.

Why make Steele HC instead of Tee? If Steele succeeds he just going to step down? If he fails then probably means Tee failed too. So then why not Tee as HC

“Higher order thinking” = thinking Steele/Tee is a good hire

Maybe Steele is here to take the bullet. Imagine Tee taking over this dumpster fire. He would be put in a horrible situation and maybe Fulmer doesn’t want to do that to him. Steele takes the fall as he stabilizes the program, is fired, and then Tee comes in and takes us to the level we want to be at

Fulmer - "Great question Vols2DaWall, we have an obvious plan in place for this scenario. We'll stop the game, announce to the fans to look under their seats, if they have the golden ticket they can come down to the field and finish the game. I mean, its not like Steele could fricking win games here either. Plus we can have more fan involement as well."

New coach brings his own OC in my book.

If it’s Steele I’m confident he will put together a strong staff. I believe the same for Pruitt. I like Tucker but his staff is a question mark.

When the best cases scenario ends in the best we can do is hire a fall guy... If we did this with Les Miles, I'd be all for it. But why bring in a guy to teach your HCIW with such a terrible record? You tel me that Les wouldn't come in and coach for 3-5 years and show Tee the ropes of running the administration?

I'm guessing that is what all the interviews are for. Hopefully, we will know....Soon.

Some dude currently grilling Hyams. Quite enjoyable.

Calling him out on downing Tee hire while promoting Steele. Actually goaded him into running out his standard Steele promo card.

I definitely think Les would be better but there’s something behind the scenes about him that makes him untouchable. Houston wouldn’t even interview him.
