Hiring Steele is basically a repeat of hiring Dooley. The record doesn't justify it, we are doing it because he was an assistant on a good team, and he has the right connections.

Except Steele has somehow been even less successful than Dooley as a head coach and is also older than dirt and also has panic attacks.

I was pretty strong that Tee wouldn't come as OC but if we hire a defensive guy he has a lot to gain by coming. Would finally be in charge.

But why would he come for Tucker or Pruitt? He won't get the HCIW title. Both of those guys are under 45 and I'm 100% sure they will not go with that.

We need to place our faith in Fulmer. NO ONE cares about this program more than Fulmer. Nobody on this site has put the time, effort, blood, sweat, tears, and anything else worth sacrificing on the line for this program like Fulmer has.

I have complete trust and faith in him to craft a vision and solution for the program. I'm ready to support any staff.

Nationally Fulmer is viewed as a backstabber (Majors & Currie). Whether that is legitimate viewpoint does not change the fact that some view him that way. Many coaches want no part of this. Honestly, he has no qualifications for being an AD other than he coached at UT. If he pulls a rabbit out of his hat, it will be pure luck. But hey he was a lucky coach

The only logical explanation is Phil Fulmer is friends with Steele so he is biased.

Or..... it could be that we have targeted the defensive coordinators of the 3 best defenses in the SEC.
