Was taking to my brother tonight about the search and he made a good point, Brohm's buyout goes down 1 million tomorrow and that happens to be the so-called timetable for a new hire...

Just a thought.

So looking at next yrs probable starting D, whose scheme is best fit for our personnel. Venables, Tucker, Steele, Pruitt? Obviously can't include Morris, unless we make assumtions on his Defensive staff. Also did we ever get a buyout # for Morris?

The way our defense played this year maybe we could get an one year exemption to play a 4-4-4.

Yeah because he knows it's Steele. Once people figure it out say bye bye to the clicks.

Brohm would be a grand slam down by 3 in the bottom of the 9th at this point.

Your brother would not happen to be named Jimmy Hyams would he? Jk

Yeah I judge coach mcgoogle by my take of the average Tennessee fan’s perspective. Les Miles we all know. But you have to be a more engaged fan of the sport to know who Brent Venables is and whether we should be optimistic.

All you have to do is have watched college football over the last few years to know who either was. You don't have to be that engaged.

Unless I've missed something, nobody has talked about him getting an extension, either.

Im sure Phil wants somebody that can produce a physical, disciplined team.

Hyams seems to think Chad Morris doesnt bring that style of play.

Who are the other most realistic candidates that bring this?

Les
Venables
Pruitt
Steele

One of these IMO.

Pruitt comes off to me as a prick. Dont seem like a Phil hire to me but he probably would bring physical, disciplined football back. Has coached under Richt and Saban. Supposedly can recruit. Knows how Alabama works. Phil wants to get back to beating Alabama. But to me, he has a Muschampy personality. One of which I dont really care for, but I dont play on the team so that doesnt really matter.

Les would bring it but could he score points?

Venables would bring it but he seems like the least realistic to me.

Hell no to Steele.

He is the only coach we talked to that has not received a raise and/or extension.

My theory is Purdue wants him gone so they can go after Steele or Miles
