Official Jon Gruden Thread XLIV

Look.......it's one thing for fans to go to twitter and facebook to argue about a questionable coach in Schiano, but for all that we know of Gundy, he's never been associated with anything wrong, and he's a winner. So to go out there and say he's "not the right coach for TN" well then that would for sure kill this program.

NO COACH would want to walk into this situation if fans did that.

Go look at his wikipedia page. Lot of accusations. No proof though.

I would join you, but I'm waiting for a follow-up email from my Numibian prince.

Funny story:

When my kids were young, I replied to one of those e-mails and trolled the guy for about a week. I told him I thought we should invest all the money in Avocados. My kids could not wait to get home to see his response each night as he kept talking about oil investments and huge returns and I always steered it back to investing in Avocados. He finally stopped responding when I told him I would send the cash, but I needed his bank account info to wire the funds. :)

Dude.

Right off the bat you are the one going over the ledge.

I have never ever claimed to be an insider.

And that's as much of a response as I have for you today. Take care.

Exile...I wish you had not said anything...I know why you did....please dont let these guys get to you...I would hate for you to disappear...we need you and Knuck here!

Okay, something I'm not getting. Dots aren't connecting.

Allegedly Peyton called Gundy last week and talked up the Vols. This is according to ESPN which I'm not sure I believe. I think somewhere just above supermarket tabloids is their domain at the moment. However, if true...

If Currie had his man Schiano, why would or how come Peyton is calling another coach to gauge interest when he was all but signed?

Separate paths?

They slapped Peyton’s name in there to try to salvage it. That’s why EVERYBODY is reporting his talks with Gundy now. To make it clear Peyton wasn’t the one pushing Schiano.

I have to agree with Tasty on this. Exile and Knuck clearly need attention. The 100% done deal with Gruden attention is gone, but instantly they have huge inside information that is too huge to share. So big that they can't even share it behind a screen name. I would imagine one of them has the inside scoop on what happened with JFK, and the location of Bigfoot. Sorry insiders, but you deserve a hard time because you either don't have a source or have bad sources.

He said he wasn’t putting it out! Why can that not be good enough for some of you. GO to your safe place. This is ours.

And I get your point, BUT Exile is basically saying they need to be gone before the next coach is hired.

Well if rumors are to be true then we've got less than 24 hours to do it.

If he's had this info for what I'm assuming is a while now. Then why wasn't this done sooner? Why wait till they try and drop a crap coach on us?

There's where I'm calling the BS. I don't believe there is any real tangible info that can make this happen.

I completely see where you are coming from. There may not be time to let the pieces line up like they need to be before somebody hires coach McGoogle. And, if we want, REALLY WANT, to get the cancer out, we may have to suffer though that to get to where we want to be.

Maybe Peyton didn’t know about Schiano until the last minute? We know most if not all the boosters and the Athletic Department had no idea until Schiano was almost in Knoxville after all

Haha, nicely played, Terry. :)

But he shoulda known you were kidding him. I have been reliably informed by a nice person in a commercial that avocados come from Mexico, not Numibia. Duh.

well, i'm lost.
long day at work, too much to get caught up on (although i tried).

sounds like currie/haslam is gonna hire somebody before they can be ousted.
knuck's throwing up somewhere. somebody knows something to take down haslam.

what's going on? summary please.

No one is talking about hurting Gundy. Last I saw, he recently got a nice extension at OSU. This is entirely about FIRE BEFORE HIRE.

You never answered my question...
We were led to believe in these Gruden threads that the power shift took place...much celebration ensued.

Was that a lie, an exaggeration?

You are trying to lead people down a path that supposedly was done a few weeks ago...

Good point.
Haslam ran Peyton's name through the dirt..that seems desperate.
