Official Jon Gruden Thread XLIV

People outside this thread and a couple of others are still delusional. It’s still all about the hire. If this goes through, we will win football games and nothing else. At the end of the day, the majority of the fans just want to win. They don’t know about the power struggle and honestly don’t care. They have families, jobs and circumstances going on that take precedence and rightfully should. That being said, we have a short window and I’m with
Facless, time is running out. We’ve done our part now it’s up to the boosters who want change to do theirs.

Agree, that’s why I asked Exile if he thought there was anything else we could be doing. However he got pissed off at others before seeing my post (or he has me blocked).

People are going to lose steam without any real direction just sending emails, calling and tweeting.

Stop telling me what to do.
I’m a woman! I’m 40!

If you don’t mind what your AD has done, that’s on you. And if I want change, that’s on me. But no reason to come into this thread telling anyone what to do.

You know what you oughta do is...:)

So everyone keeps telling me what to do, but keeps ignoring me when I say that THE RIGHT PEOPLE TO DO SOMETHING HAVE THE INFO.

Maybe I need to bold it too.

THE RIGHT PEOPLE TO DO SOMETHING HAVE THE INFO.

I'm finished for now. Y'all email or tweet or argue about a coach or how stupid people are who bring info to boards. I will keep trying to push FIRE BEFORE HIRE. Y'all do whatever. :hi:

Thanks for the info. Keep up the fight!

Speculation: The governor came out and said unequivocally on the record that he had no involvement in the Schiano hire and neither did his brother Jimmy. Someone somewhere has incontrovertible proof that this is a lie. Maybe the governor wasn't involved and maybe Jimmy lied to him. Either way, it's not good.

Hey I love UT, I have been following for me entire life. Over 45 years of memories. But I have had it with Haslam running things. We hired Dooley and Jones, we hired Hamilton and now Currie. They hired Davenport. All controlled hires that were terrible. Tennessee could do MUCH better, but by continually going with weak hires and a big following like UT at some point people can see the BS. Hamilton was a horrible hire, they raped the AD got it in the RED. That should have never happened. Tennessee FANS have made Tennessee a top revenue producer and the higher up won't even let the AD run it's show and let the loose with a great staff to hire. It's PATHETIC and has to stop or things WILL NOT CHANGE,PERIOD!

Let's say you have a teenage kid doing drugs. You take the matter to the cops. They find out who he is getting it from. Then they find out who is next up the chain. Yeah they could just take what they have and bust a couple punks. Which causes them to lose out on taking down the big cartel.

As the parent, you want everybody taken down. But you have to be patient and let it happen at the right time so you get EVERYBODY, not just a couple small timers. Plus you want it to stick. You can't rush it.

If we want all the cancer removed, it takes planning and it takes precision. Haslam is clearly very slick and has plenty of lackeys who are more than willing to tell him anything that is going on. We must be patient.

And I get your point, BUT Exile is basically saying they need to be gone before the next coach is hired.

Well if rumors are to be true then we've got less than 24 hours to do it.

If he's had this info for what I'm assuming is a while now. Then why wasn't this done sooner? Why wait till they try and drop a crap coach on us?

There's where I'm calling the BS. I don't believe there is any real tangible info that can make this happen.

The Jimmy part is 100% a lie

If so that's a great lead in for the nightly news

Too logical for me:)

Very well said, but I still want to know. I would rather it not be mentioned at all, but that's just me.
Exile only mentioned it if I'm not mistaken because Knuck was not here to answer....one word too many came out of the bottle and hard to put back...chit happens !

I guess this would not be the opportune time to request that a sammich be made?

I specifically said what I thought people could be doing. It was either ignored or not what people wanted to hear.

Look.......it's one thing for fans to go to twitter and facebook to argue about a questionable coach in Schiano, but for all that we know of Gundy, he's never been associated with anything wrong, and he's a winner. So to go out there and say he's "not the right coach for TN" well then that would for sure kill this program.

NO COACH would want to walk into this situation if fans did that.

I have to agree with Tasty on this. Exile and Knuck clearly need attention. The 100% done deal with Gruden attention is gone, but instantly they have huge inside information that is too huge to share. So big that they can't even share it behind a screen name. I would imagine one of them has the inside scoop on what happened with JFK, and the location of Bigfoot. Sorry insiders, but you deserve a hard time because you either don't have a source or have bad sources.

Okay, something I'm not getting. Dots aren't connecting.

Allegedly Peyton called Gundy last week and talked up the Vols. This is according to ESPN which I'm not sure I believe. I think somewhere just above supermarket tabloids is their domain at the moment. However, if true...

If Currie had his man Schiano, why would or how come Peyton is calling another coach to gauge interest when he was all but signed?

Separate paths?
