Official Jon Gruden Thread XLIV

Said another way, the people who got Gruden to consider coaching here in the first place are still real people with real money. They wanted, and still want him. But everyone realizes now, Currie and the Haslam influence HAS to go.

Then why not get Gruden or the boosters to go public with the information he wants the job and Currie and Haslam nixed the deal. that would create a storm in the media neither of them could nor want to handle. Use the media, and social media to get it out there for the love of God

People outside this thread and a couple of others are still delusional. It’s still all about the hire. If this goes through, we will win football games and nothing else. At the end of the day, the majority of the fans just want to win. They don’t know about the power struggle and honestly don’t care. They have families, jobs and circumstances going on that take precedence and rightfully should. That being said, we have a short window and I’m with Facless, time is running out. We’ve done our part now it’s up to the boosters who want change to do theirs.

So everyone keeps telling me what to do, but keeps ignoring me when I say that THE RIGHT PEOPLE TO DO SOMETHING HAVE THE INFO.

Maybe I need to bold it too.

THE RIGHT PEOPLE TO DO SOMETHING HAVE THE INFO.

I'm finished for now. Y'all email or tweet or argue about a coach or how stupid people are who bring info to boards. I will keep trying to push FIRE BEFORE HIRE. Y'all do whatever. :hi:

UTVolinExile, thank you for the info you have been able to bring. The court of public opinion has already hung Currie and Haslam, and I truly believe the right people to do something have the info. Maybe that's optimism, seeing through orange-colored glasses, but that's what I believe. The question is whether there's enough time for them to act before everything gets fubar.

I think a lot of people would have been happy with Gundy a few days ago. I just don't think anyone ever thought he was a realistic option. I agree $8M is crazy though.

I'll be one of the first to admit I never would have thought he left Stillwater until he was asked to by the man with his name on the side of the stadum.

I may be wrong.

Quick question... is this heresay or is there documentation of the wrongdoing?

Skeeter said according to some boosters Gundy accepted an offer. Same boosters said Mullen was top target before

Look, don't run away. People are going to want to know these things, but maybe in the future, if you can't spill it, maybe don't mention it. Can you hear me? Did you ignore me already?

Not running away. I just have nothing more to add right now. :hi:

This is why we can’t have nice things. Y’all have bought into all of the Gruden cloak and dagger for months but now you’re gonna turn on your own side?

If there is some truly bad stuff out there concerning Haslam, have you ever thought that it’s far more valuable as leverage than as a media headline? Once the genie is out of the bottle you can’t put it back, and you lose the threat of publicizing it.

I have no idea what the supposed dirt is, but sometime you just have to accept your role, run with it, and hope/trust that those with more knowledge and power are using it to advance the same goal that we all share.

It’s like a political campaign: volunteers that knock on doors and make phone calls, ie the grassroots army, don’t walk into the consultant’s office and demand to see the advertising budget, debate prep notes, etc. you gotta do what you can do and accept that everyone involved has the same goal and is doing thier particular job to achieve it.

Hi jawja.I know you are an attorney in Atl. and I need some help with two separate,(civil), matters. I've been wronged big time. Can you think of anyway I can discretely contact you?

So what if the side chatter is true...

Gruden has his paper signed but is waiting to see if Tennessee has the stones to cut the bs out

It could be true, it could not be true. The story cuts both ways. However, I do believe the most important thing right now is to cut out the cancer from the administration or else no hire will be successful. A bad captain will sink the Titanic 100% of the time, no matter how competent the crew.

Exactly my point in the last message I posted. If this gets out and Gruden then has to come out and say "hey guys I wanted the job, I signed the papers and I was just waiting on the call" what are dumb and dumber going to do? They will have to come up and say yeah we dropped the ball or we are idiots and didn't want him as the coach because he wanted to much power. Then everybody will know that the fans aren't the idiots here, it's the people in charge that are dumb as hell.

Right place, right time, that's all well and good, but when you have the one guy who says he has this damning information that could crush haslam, then we need to continue to call and email because we don't want Currie to hire the next coach.

Don't you think that right time would be now? If rumors are true and Gundy is going to give a response tomorrow, then potentially there is less than 24 hours to get Currie and Haslam gone before he can get the hire.

If, and this is a big if at this point, IF Gruden is really on the hook, and you can take down both Currie and Haslam RIGHT NOW if you had the info, you're telling me you wouldn't do it?

I call BS on that.

Let's say you have a teenage kid doing drugs. You take the matter to the cops. They find out who he is getting it from. Then they find out who is next up the chain. Yeah they could just take what they have and bust a couple punks. Which causes them to lose out on taking down the big cartel.

As the parent, you want everybody taken down. But you have to be patient and let it happen at the right time so you get EVERYBODY, not just a couple small timers. Plus you want it to stick. You can't rush it.

If we want all the cancer removed, it takes planning and it takes precision. Haslam is clearly very slick and has plenty of lackeys who are more than willing to tell him anything that is going on. We must be patient.

I may be wrong.

I have always heard his wife is the motivating factor for him to stay in OK...any insight into that?

Now, just where in tarnation did I put that link to the Gruden thread...🤔😒

We (myself included) "done talked" about everything up in here but Gruden...some crazy $hit man, crazy $hit...
