By extending an offer and signing an MOU with Schiano, Currie effectively repudiated any other prior agreements that may have been signed. If a party to a prior agreement took action to his own detriment in reliance on that prior agreement, he could sue. If extending the offer to Schiano was fraudulent, then treble or punitive damages could be recovered.

Example: I live and work in FL, knuck lives and works in TN. I offer knuck a job working with me in FL, and he signs an agreement to do that. And then he also quits his job in TN and moves to FL. When he gets here, he finds out that I've already offered the job to someone else, and signed another agreent with that person.

In my example, knuck has no obligations to me. He owes me nothing based on his signature, because I repudiated that agreement by trying to hire someone else. In addition, knuck can sue me for fraudulently inducing him into signing an agreement and then quitting his job and moving to FL. Quitting and moving is called "detrimental reliance," he relies on my promise to his detriment. He can sue me for defrauding him and ask for an award of treble (3x) or punitive damages.

Sorry for the law school lesson. :)

if I'm reading between these lines correctly, I may just throw up everywhere.

As they said on the MidDay 180 on 104.5 The Zone today, Fulmer is going to have to be front and center with this search from now until we get someone hired. He is probably the only one with any credibility at this point. Currie (pending he still has the authority) is going to have to swallow his pride and ask PF for help...and I mean ASAP!!

Currie shouldn’t have any pride left

I hate to say it, and I thought everyone would understand this by now...

Gruden was the smokescreen set up by Currie, Haslams, etc. His name was out there as a procedural move and the grumors provided the perfect cover for Currie to perform this covert operation without his own co-workers knowing.

It is pretty clear that Haslam and Currie tried the old end around and got fn caught. Screw them both.

It is time to boycott all things Pilot Flying J........

PLOT TWIST!!!!!

Gruden flies in tonight after the game.... espn announces Gruden as the coach on van pelts "bad beats" tonight.... Currie is made out to have saved the day and is the hero! Beaver's prophecies come true, everyone goes crazy and we win the Natty within two years!!!

Boom B!tches....

Real F-ing SOON.....

He did say that. But why? Why was a month and half ago this said about Currie? Is this to build Currie up? Beave care to explain?

Thanks but not worried about him. Anyone coming in here trying to call me out after the **** show yesterday is just sad. It's not about me or exile or anyone else. It's about the program. Not going to lie, but I was told of some disgusting news tonight. I cannot and will not repeat. It has really hit me how bad the AD is, worse than I thought. I was very optimistic earlier. Now just here. Like Parker said, don't let up tomorrow. Keep it going. I told someone earlier I wish I never said 100% because of Haslam. I take it back. I am glad I said it, it was true and factual. Gruden signed and was going to be our next coach. How it went down is just depressing heartbreaking for so many people, the town, and region. With that I am going to sleep.

Keep it between the ditches y'all

If you happen to read this when you wake up, if that news you've got that you don't want to repeat will help maintain or grow the outrage then please turn it loose on us.

How much would we pay in damages if you had to estimate on what the average contract would be?

If that is true, that is the story that needs to come out! If you don't want to tell us, call Hargis. You know journalists protect their sources. But keeping it to yourself helps no one! And actually hurts everyone because it does not matter that we believe you, it matters that most everyone else does not and until the truth is out nothing will change. Same goes for Atlanta, Exile, Beaver, RockyTopSC, DTO and whoever else knows something!

Dude, I like you and believe what you say. I will stop doing both of those if you hold any info from us. Nobody benefits from withheld info except for crooked AD. I think as much as we have been jerked off lately, we should be given the info if you know something we don't. Why can't you repeat it? Gonna get shot?

Great

ESPN getting ready to bash us next.

This is literally a nightmare.

Thanks Currie
Thanks Haslam

As if they wouldnt bash us if we did hire the bum . this is a lose lose situation for everyone .

Edit. However I agree with the protest of this hire. Why hire a coach that would have to answer questions about witnessing child molestation at the first presser?

We would be bashed either way. The problem is at the top.....a good coaching hire should be about 3rd or 4th on the list. We got some more heads that need to roll first.

Exactly what I thought .. thank you for the confirmation! So it looks like if a prior MOU was signed prior to Schiano, Currie is both a PR and a legal liability. Giving credence to the justification of the 'fired with cause' talk.

What's wrong with Currie going rogue to the Haslam's? They and Bev pretty much threw him under the bus, put in drive, ran over him (all tires), put in reverse and ran over him again. We all know Gruden will not fall into the money pit. Heck his agent IS NOT Sexton.

Wut? What’s wrong with it is that they will replace Currie with another yes man.

Haslam muscled Currie in as AD and he will sacrifice him when needed. Currie will get paid millions and ride off in the sunset. That’s how this always works.

How the HELL Currie can still have a job after this NATIONAL debacle is blowing my Frickin mind!

I am surprised as well. It just goes to show how much power Haslam has to be able to keep him. I just knew there would be a firing today. Unbelievable..
