It looks more and more like Currie is on the train of thought to fire/hire very close together. If he can't announce Gruden, he won't fire Butch. The team is use to Butch's schedule and upsetting that could be detrimental to the young men on the team, like taking your kid out of class mid school year to move. Butch getting fired vs. staying on to coach the rest of the year...pretty much the same thing. Recruiting is going to take a hit because he's gone, and everybody knows it. How would an interim change the effect on recruiting fall out? We know the interim won't be here either. The best case scenario is keep the staff together until year's end for the sake of your current players and announce Gruden (we're assuming Gruden's taking the job) as soon as you can for the class of '18's recruits and all of our sanity.
