Are you just going off people’s opinions? You say that as if it is a fact. I really hope that is the case though

It is information I have received from 2 people. One has multiple contacts inside the university that have provided verifiable info throughout. The other isn't connected to any of the parties involved, just the brokers.

For sure. I don't think everyone gets that none of this has been about wins and losses. It has been about the ducks being in a row (on the booster/ad side) in order to get Gruden's signature on the paper. Butch has wanted to leave for a year. He certainly doesn't care if he goes out after a win or a loss. He just wants to leave.

And, if we do have the White Whale, we have recruiting to think about! If we don't have him, we are screwed on the early signing!

It is hard for people to believe... Obvs myself included... That w/l have nothing to do with it.

I was still hearing yesterday that Currie wants to retain him at 6-6.

That doesn't line up AT ALL with the insiders, but as I've said several times before, until Butch is relieved of his duties publicly, I am still going to feel uneasy.

Today or Monday would actually be a good day to announce a change after a win. It would be good for BJ actually. If they announce he will coach the remainder of the season the fans would be more ok with this now after a win than a loss and knowing change is coming

I agree that it was fun to see them win again.....but it was So. Miss. It wasn’t an actual SEC team. I don’t find that acceptable.

Coast feeling this way is relevant. I’m slap wore out myself. If this firing doesn’t happen soon AND a very big name/competitive HBC isn’t hired, then I have a feeling a lot of the fan base is just going to tune out.

And Butch was eager to say how great of a team they were that way he could try and trick people into thinking it was an impressive win. Nice try Butch

Exactly. At this point I see no benefit to delaying an announcement. Of course there are variables that I don't know about. However, the info I have received is that we will be put out of our misery very soon. Currie does seem to have some trouble with this. Like when you keep ALMOST sneezing.

A win is a win. JK was grinning ear to ear after the game. Sad the fans have lost their joy of winning. But complain when lose. Must be tough living. Snowflake generation iyam.

I'm not in the snowflake generation by a long shot... I'm an old retired man... who is sick of this administration patching potholes with every hire... it is time we GO BIG or GO HOME..... and if they don't.... I'm out

What is the shame is a generation of newer fans who have learned to accept a no SEC win in a season and celebrate a win over a CUSA team like it is a win over Bama..

We should have beat that team like a drum, they came here to take a beating collect their money... and we think we have done great things when we beat them.. I can only hope we get back to Tennessee football before I die

I get that, tasty. Especially coming from you. :)

However, I think it defies all logic to believe that Currie is wishing yo retain Butch or that Butch is willing to stay.

It is news that has been reported by many different people over the last 24 hours.
Very much aware of that and want to believe just like I started out 3 weeks wanting to believe Gruden was coming. I firmly believe the reports of MOU/MOA but wish to keep emotions somewhat tempered until Gruden is actually coming down the Chimney until it's reported by ESPN !

Makes sense. Announce Resignation, possibly at end of year. Open UT up to move forward with Gruden hire.

Butch has truly lowered expectations at the University of Tennessee. It’s sad considering where we used to be

I believe alot of the info and opinions are close to being correct.

I believe no one posting on this board knows anything substantial as FACT.

I believe my post is 100% my opinion.

Logic is fantastic but nothing about the last 10 years of Tennessee Athletics has even a whiff of logic attached to any of their decisions.

And... COMING FROM ME?!!!??
why, I oughta...😁

I don't care if Butch coaches through this year or NOT..... but I want some type of announcement from the AD this week on Butch

Doug Matthews insinuated that Fulmer firmly belinves the midseason announcement in 2008 cost him the Wyoming game and the team a bowl appearance. The suggestion is out there that Fulmer lobbied against making an announcement on Butch before the end of the season. I do think decision makers have a plan, hopefully including Gruden or another impressive hire. However, things can change on the ground and Butch still has the crown until an announcement is made. I've seen **** like this blow up in people's faces before in the political world. I think the decision makers are smart enough to know that if you want the crown you take out the king. I'm starting to worry that we will whiff on the big fish, other schools will hire our best plan b options, we will somehow beat Vandy, the APR will get us to the Independence Bowl, Butch's supporters will rally and help him hang on another season, and Sexton will convince Currie that lame duck status will negate Butch's ability to recruit and upgrade staff thereby extracting a new contract that gets rid of the mitigation clause and extends Butch a couple of years.

I know. GTFO. Sorry. I'm losing faith.

This. And I believe it will be a resignation and not a firing. I am not 100% on coaching the rest of the year though. An interim may be appointed. But what do I Know? Nothing!
