Campbell will be at Iowa State next year.

You very well may be right but the buyout isn't nearly as big of an obstacle as we act around here. If we are willing to pay 6mil which I think we are we can easily pay his buyout by saving some salary money

9 mill buyout he's not leaving

That number isn’t that huge for a sitting P5 coach, really. Plus his current salary is low, so it would balance out decently.

Not saying it would be cheap, but not astronomical or anything. Probably still cheaper than Mullen, Gruden, or Kelly would be.

Coach A has a 3 mil dollar buyout and will have to paid 6 mil a year. After 5 years we have spent 33 mil.

Coach Campbell has a 9 mil buyout but can be hired for 4.5mil a year which doubles his salary. After 5 years we spent 31.5 mil.

The buyout talk is foolish if we can hire him cheaper which I think we can.

Yeah if someone really wants him as their guy the buyout will not get in the way. Mac had a crazy high buyout too but somehow it got worked way down to go to florida. I personally think he stays because he wants to stay and it's a good fit for him. Great coach but he would have to hire a lot of SEC recruiters around him and I think that is where people are having problems when coming to conference from different areas. They are leaving behind the crews that helped get them there and hiring people they haven't worked with or they are bringing guys into unknown recruiting areas.

I know you love Fuentes. Feldman mentioned him as the first name in regards to TN job that he would call. He doesn't think he would leave but you make the call. I agree with all of that.

Have heard the buyout could be spread over 48 months, if true then it makes further economical sense.

Currie was literally reaching out to coaches to gauge interest through Sexton less than a month after he was hired. Why do you think Butch fired his agent and hired a Sexton?

And you know this how? LWS said it somewhere? Some other "insider"? You sure didn't hear it from Currie.

The article was certainly pro-UCF and the state of Florida's recruiting base is just about all they have to sell that is on par with the big schools. Admittedly however, it is a big selling point.

I mentioned this the other day and continue to feel this way...the Florida recruiting gold mine is being spread out more and more. Florida, FSU, Miami, UCF, USF and now FAU are all fighting over the same recruits, not to mention all the poaching that takes place from out-of-state schools including Tennessee.

I'd be curious to look at how many Florida 4* & 5* players in the next couple of classes compared to Tennessee 4* & 5*. We might find the Florida gold mine is being spread thinner and thinner while Tennessee will obviously not suffer from the same level of competition for talent. These figures will either support my argument to some degree or just provide further proof that I don't know what I'm talking about...haha!

This is what 247 composite has right now (It's too early for 2020)
FL
2018 = 52
2019 = 49
2020 = 14

TN
2018 = 9
2019 = 19
2020 = 8

GA (aka TN South)
2018 = 37
2019 = 41
2020 = 13

Dude, zip it! This is getting old from you. All the info and smoke out there that he will not be back, and you continue this. Even Brent Hubbs has basically said he won’t be back. Go join Vol Lady/Lovemesomebigorange, and take a few of her Xanax.

Keep up the blind faith

Hey bass master, I just want to apologize for my post earlier this morning. I shouldn’t have told you to shut up and edited my post to reflect that. I cannot stand anyone using that phrase, and I should not have used it either.

No problem. We are all mad and in a glass case of emotion

Unless he’s not. :)

This is a pretty cynical argument to make considering you have the same lack of access to Currie and you’ve been making pessimistic proclamations about what Currie will do and why for weeks now.

I had optimism before Currie did nothing and let Butch lose to SC and KY and probably So Miss this Saturday all the while everything is burning down around him. But sure, everything will be great. Currie knows exactly what he's doing. Not sure how I know that, but everyone on here believes it so it must be true.
