he will burn any players RS right now. He knows he wont be the coach next year so why would he care. Ole Butch dont have that I am the smartest man in the room act going on right now.
Only at Tennessee that you cant be fired until you completely burn it to the ground.

How hard is it for currie to say...

Butch and I have come to an agreement that he will not return next year. Butch as requested to coach out the season. We have honored that request until we have a reason to do otherwise.

I personally don’t believe you to be a troll. I think you’re knowledgeable and are passing on what you have honestly heard from others. Guys a troll would not go to this length to punk us on a message board. A troll posts a couple things and leaves. Beaver posts and keeps coming back with information that’s not far from the truth. I mean what is he some splinter cell from Russia trolling a volnation thread? I think not

I just don't understand the harm behind Currie coming out and making a very generic statement about Butch Jones being "our guy" for the remainder of the 2017 season. How hard is that? It quiets the fanbase who are rabidly looking for any rumor to latch onto about his firing, and is non-committal enough that firing him is not excluded.

What do we gain from all of this silence by Currie? It just makes no sense. He can't be this deaf/blind can he?

But I'm not getting involved in this mess and will be just reading and lurking only because of some info I reported the other day here with a friend of mine who works in recruiting for 247sports.com and getting blasted over it. I don't blame DTO leaving!

Carry on and let the cards fall as they must! Sooner or later all this will come out, trust me when Butch is gone.

To me that last part is just wrong on our AD's side. I genuinely like Butch Jones, I hate his stupid gimmicks and dumb sayings, but I truly believe he is a genuinely nice guy. I think for his sake, they should pull the trigger. If anything, they owe him that much. Say what we will about these last two years, but he has done enough to get us back on our feet. Now, are we ready to start walking? Clearly not, as is evident by all this insane crap going on. But I feel we owe him enough to at least leave with his head up, not pushed out in front of the camera like a freaking puppet! This isn't me supporting him being retained, because I think it's time for a Gruden type hire like the rest of you on this thread, but Butch absolutely doesn't deserve this mess.
