Ok guys, I just got back from my run. About 2/3rds of the way done right when things were seeming desperate, I saw it.....a white squirrel. I've never seen a white squirrel ever and I run daily, but there it was. It's a sign. I'm all in.

That's a step down from a "white whale", but at this point I'll take it!!

I know there has been nothing good to tweet with regards to football, but any one else think its a little odd that Currie Tweets, Tennis, Volleyball, Golf, and so much more but has not sent a single tweet regarding football recently. He is avoiding the elephant in the room for sure.

IMO, not avoiding, just slow playing, one of many negotiation tactics. That and silence can be tools often under estimated.

As far as the Beav, threatening to leave ... you play these games on the interwebz at your own risk. Deal with it or GTFO.

Keep up the good work SFD. No matter what happens, it has been entertaining.

Two things jump out at me. One has been stated over and over - the complete silence from the AD. The second thing that made me think we are in good hands - Fuad Reviez stating that he thought that Currie had a list in hand since sometime last year. He was pissed after the game and all but said "Fire Butch!" The list in hand comment had me thinking that this process has been occurring for a while. He also talked for a bit about the back channel stuff. Plus, if Currie has hit the back channels then Butch knows how the game is played, he's working that side hard too so he can save his own career. I don't think these two are at odds. They know it's over and they are both working to get to the end, just from different angles.

with ur screen name im betting we know each other

well ... .... ..... ...... ....... ........ ......... .......... that makes sense. ouch for me.

It's all jmo.
Take comfort that I'm not a billionaire and just a working class Joe. So, what do I know about business on that level?
If I were you I would wait until the Gruden thread big wigs like ape show up and get his opinion. Lol!

I call BS. How do we know this squirrel is an insider. Maybe he just got into white paint and is now being pursued by an amorous French skunk. Was it actually white or maybe eggshell or vanilla.

I’m still going to wait and see if this white squirrel is as important as an over educated golfing beaver.

Grude Morning! OG here ... Original Grudenite from 2012. I'll never forget the heartbreak that fateful day of believing Gruden would be our next coach, only to have Butch trotted out instead. This time will different. We have to believe! SOON!

Assuming Gruden is the next head coach I hope he has plan on how to implement his offense in college. His offense is confusing for a team of pros imagine his offense to a team of student atheletes. I think that could be the biggest downside with Gruden. On the flip side his offense could easily be sold as the place to go and learn a real NFL offense. Also he has worked with a lot of QBs coming out of college and I'm sure has a good understanding of the verbiage they use along with how they call plays.

Dobbs said that when he got to Pittsburgh, he knew the plays because they were the same as the ones he ran in college, only with different verbiage.

Gruden's game breakdown and over all knowledge is what excites me about the thought. I also think that players and coaches would jump at the chance to play under him. I am hopefull. GBO!

Refresh me

Beaver said this in Gruden XX:

"Oh I am here, I am just laughing at all of the Negavols and misinformation coming out. Watch for some more tweets/signals from VFL this weekend. The brutality of the loss today against Bama is going to make some of them post some optimistic things regarding our future (Hints that we landed the big fish).

Today I will be enjoying some old scotch, a nice cigar, and hopefully a couple birdies in my round of golf."

If anyone knows my posts, I never throw out the 'I heard this from...'

That being said, I heard a theory today that Sexton and Butch ironed out a deal for him to stay for the entire season in order to get his entire pay.

If that is why he is still here, Currie should be fired for burning the whole thing to the ground. Recruiting is being gutted because of Butch, and yet, we sit and do nothing.

I thought I was less angry today. Finding out, I'm not.

EDIT: yes, I've read that here before but actually hearing it out loud made the difference for me.

Nope. Fire him now or fire him at the end of the season, the buyout is the same. Only way anything is negotiated is if Butch reduces the buyout. But he wont because he's a snake oil salesman.

If boosters are footing the bill for the buyout would they see any money from the tickets/merch???

Serious yet possibly silly question...

Is there anyway that the boosters could put in a clause that states something along the lines of any increased revenue for the University generated by this hire would offset the amount of the buyout that they were on the hook for? That would make it, strictly from a monetary standpoint, a win/win for the University.

The whole losing recruits, while a concern, is not alarming, yet. I say this because most will not sign until the regular deadline. I suspect few will declare during the December 20 window. Thus, it does come to reason to let BJ finish the season, and then as soon as it is done, roll with the Grude train...The recruiting issue would be fixed instantaneously! So, maybe we should just relax? But it does suck having to endure BJ, but if it is for what we all think is coming...SOON! Wooooo!

Thank you for saving minutes of my life lol

No boro, beaver, DTO, or bubba yet today?

Nothing to report. I've still not heard anything negative, and am still on board. Everybody has clammed up and I'm just along for the ride too. I was originally told it could take until after the KY game, which I refused to believe. But I'm not going to worry until then, unless I hear something else.

If Manning is really on board with Gruden, then so am I. Gruden does know football and is a QB guru. My only concern is that he's NOT a college coach. But, I'm certain that he could get top recruits to UT and have the Vols competing with Alabama again.

Not only the players, I would think that coaches would want to work with him to learn what goes on in his head. He watches a lot of film and breaks down the plays.
