gonna repost this, 'cause i honestly believe this, and i think people are missing it while waiting for mit posts or something. it's my cospiracy theory, and i'm sticking to it.
here is what's happening folks.
the people that know boosters are claiming the deal is pretty much agreed to, because the boosters and back channel people have been in unofficial preliminary negotiations with gruden and his people, which he has agreed to.
the people that know a.d. folks are being told no john gruden. they can't possibly own up to all this right now. hence, all the conflicting misinformation we keep hearing about the same time every day this week plus the influx of posters with 2 weeks and 15 posts to their credit.
now when butch is gone, business will pick up, because we'll actually have an opening.
even more smokescreen until such a time gruden is announced.
like a woman having a baby, everybody is happy. no body remembers the excrutiating pain of the whole process.
currie = rock star
gruden = ut football savior
maybe i'm :crazy:
maybe i just wanna believe, and this narrative allows me to keep doing that.
time'll tell.
Why would he have to iron out a deal to stay the full season and get his buyout??? That wouldnt need to be ironed out, if he stays, and gets fired, whether today or at end of season, he gets a buyout. The only thing that would need to be negotiated is if he agreed to a lessor buyout but gets to stay till end of the season. I understand that was just a theory, but it doesnt hold water. Other than money, there is no benefit to keeping Butch another day longer. We have multiple people in place that would be adequate as interim.
I think most of us have the fear that this team finds a way, in spite of Butch, to win out, or at least win 3 or 4 of the next 5, which then makes the firing more difficult. As bad as we have played, the 5 left on our schedule certainly can be beaten by a motivated, determined UT squad.
Exactly. The only reason would be to save money. Which I don't get since, from the very beginning, it has been stated that money was not an obstacle this time around. Anyone able to shine some light on this for me, as I'm sure I'm not seeing all of the angles here.

My eyes still hurt from last nights posts. I couldn't read fast enough to keep up. I thought I had broken my refresh keys. I finally quit and just went to bed. Anyway, I have a hard time believing Butch is fired today because if so, they wouldn't have let him have his pc yesterday. JMO.
Assuming Gruden is the next head coach I hope he has plan on how to implement his offense in college. His offense is confusing for a team of pros imagine his offense to a team of student atheletes. I think that could be the biggest downside with Gruden. On the flip side his offense could easily be sold as the place to go and learn a real NFL offense. Also he has worked with a lot of QBs coming out of college and I'm sure has a good understanding of the verbiage they use along with how they call plays.
