Just don't really know what happened to him. In his first three years on the job it appeared like the program was on a clear upward trajectory. His teams were disciplined and fought hard every game, and we also had lots of promising young talent. Although his cliches were annoying everyone seemed to like him. Then something just happened that totally changed the direction of the program. All that being said, he's to blame in the end. Really looking forward to this coaching search.

Let his inmates run the asylum and fired Lawson.

Going to Boone in a couple hours to visit my bud. I'll be sure to ask Satterfield when he plans on letting his team know he's coming down the mountain to coach UT.

Also, was at the titans game Monday. Pretty meh for 3 quarters but then that place got turnt up. I was toward the side of the end zone where Taylor got that 50yd TD from Mariota. AWESOME to see in person. MM assuaged some fears that he's Jake Locker 2.0 for me. He and Eric Decker were looking Great. Defense played great after the first half too.

Good morning,

Gruden is going to build a wall, and UGA is going to pay for it.

Happy Friday, hopefully next week we will have all thanked Butch for his efforts and move forward with hope, although I still have a feeling he will be our coach next week against Kentucky.

I don’t understand why Butch blatantly lies

My guy tells me QD should have had surgery in the spring. I don't think this means he is done this year.

This coming out now sounds more like making excuses for bad play than him being done for the year to me.

So when is the stick of dynamite going to be put in the FF Gruden thread and end that troll job?

As much as I wanted him... He. Is. Not. Coming.

I don't think anyone over here actually thought he was coming or either party was remotely interested. I think it was just fun to dream (lottery dreams come to mind) and something to pass the time.

Tells you how bad JG is in practice if true

Brohm was 30-10 at Western Michigan and is likely going to get Purdue 7 to 9 wins this year.

I'm definitely not opposed to hiring him, but like Frost, there's a chance his heart pulls him back to his alma mater.

Western Kentucky. Fleck coached Western Michigan.

Of course, rumblings of Jon Gruden have dominated message boards and social media this week. Gruden being in town last weekend certainly fueled those as well. What we can say is that the biggest question regarding Gruden in regards to any job opening is the same question of the last 10 years: Does Gruden truly want to coach? He has said yes in the past, but hasn't gotten deeply involved with any NFL job opening the last decade and there's certainly much debate to how much he's ever flirted with the Tennessee job. And there's currently no job opening in Knoxville. What we know is that Gruden and his agent aren't going to be saying anything about Gruden's future anytime soon and so the Grumors are only going to continue to grow.

One other interesting note is the published reports that Peyton Manning was in Cleveland this week and is thought to be in a position to become the day-to-day football operations director for Jimmy Haslam and the Browns. Manning's trip to Cleveland fueled that speculation this week. Manning and the Haslam family have been close and have appeared to have gotten even closer since Manning's playing days have ended. Manning was involved with the Haslam's in the hiring of John Currie and it was Manning who actually called Phillip Fulmer to tell him they were going with Currie. Many believe Manning will have a hand in a coaching search if a change is made at Tennessee.
