Charlie Strong’s record at Louisville: 7-6,7-6, 11-2(beat urban Meyer coached Florida in sugar bowl), 12-1. I cant wait to see what y’all say when he beats the ish out of your golden boy frost at UCF later this year when they play, oh wait, he doesn’t stand a chance because frost should coach circles around him. I know he blew it at Texas and I’m sure strong wouldn’t make any excuses because he’s a stand up guy, but y’all act like winning at Louisville is less than winning at wku, ucf. All these other coordinator coaches that are named can’t be compared to what strong has done because they haven’t done it yet. It’s ridiculous to say stupid stuff like I’d take him as a dc when he’s already been successful as a head coach. Butchna is the only one to put up a valid argument about strong not being successful because he had plenty of talent. I’d have to argue if that was true, why hasn’t the great Tom Herman stepped in and won all his games then? Strong only had 3 seasons at Texas and like it was mentioned before, he had to kick a lot of starters off the team because they were spoiled, entitled, and didn’t fit in the culture he was trying to create. He’d be a great hire here, but he’d probably have to get rid of a lot of players because he wouldn’t put up with the crap that Butch Jones lets them get away with

Strong was better at Louisville than Petrino is, but people bow to Petrino and act like Strong is a scrub. It's stupid

He isn't my first choice by any means, but I think he would do a lot better than many think. I definitely think he would be an upgrade. I never thought he was a good fit at Texas, and he has been successful at his other two stops. He would be a better fit here than at Texas and could do well if he had a good staff around him. Having said all that, there are other candidates I like a lot better.

Hart tried to nickel and dime him. Should have offered more money. There wasn’t a financial advantage for him to come here with what we were offering.

Hyams said he was hired and reneged. If true, the boosters and AD will not even look his way.

Besides, nobody should give him a look. He's half a season removed from a horrible job he did at Texas. He has 2 or 3 years where he's at before he starts getting serious looks again.

And he’s on track to go 12-0 in his first year out of Texas. I’m sure that’s just luck though right?

That same team went 11-2 last year

and you keep saying he is on track...............but what you mean is "so far this season" his team is 5-0 (having beaten: san jose st, stony brook, Ill, E Car, and Temple.

Heck I can say Tennessee is on track to go 10-2, but that does not make it true.

Sure Strong took over a great USF team and currently has them 5-0, but they have not beaten anyone of remote substance.

No it's not luck. It's called following Willie Taggart who got hired at Oregon after going 11-2 last year at USF.

Guess we can contrast and compare Strong’s last season and Herman’s first AFTER the fact...when that happens. If we go on what we’ve witnessed so far they’ve lost to a full strength Maryland squad and USC. The former was more negative when we didn’t glimpse how hard those kids play for Durkin. And the other was USC and they almost won. Compare that to the lifeless product stocked with Strong’s recruits (including his last class which was top 10). They lost to Kansas! That team’s lone Big 12 win and became twinsies with Rhode Island in that department overall. That’s an abortion coaching wise. He’s not the answer.

Not a great team he took over. USF never got higher than #18.

Right now they are #15. And considering everyone thinks Strong is trash, he has done something in 5 games that Taggart never did.

Once again, Strong isn’t in my top 3 but he’s definitely worth an interview if Chip and Gruden (if true) turn us down. He would be a better options than the Brohms, Morris, and other midmajor/up and comer names being thrown around.

Hell, if it came down to hiring Les or Strong, i would take Charlie all day. However, it’s all for naught. I really think Strong gets the Ole Miss job because he will have a few years to get things in order and the new coach will have to recruit for 1-2 seasons. He can recruit South Florida better than anyone.

They're #18 but luckily they don't play no other team ranked in the top 25 because they would get boat raced.
