To look at this as anything other than the simplification of what it is, i.e. "We can't move the barrier, you can't move the barrier while we're here, but hey, we're leaving, make your own decision" is stupidity.
I'm not defending the cop in this instance as he went as far as he probably could without, again, saying it outright or drawing a damn picture. I am saying those morons needed to actually listen to what was being said instead of being offended and not paying attention. The cop repeats the whole "we're leaving and you make an adult choice" several times. And instead of getting hit with the lightning bolt of realization of what he was saying, the moron drives over the curb instead of waiting five minutes for them to leave and moving the barriers (the adult choice) and leaving.
And somehow you think you need to side with the ones that aren't smart enough to figure this out? It's like the movies where someone says "now, I can't tell you about this because you don't have clearance. But I happen to have the file right here on my desk and I'm going to the bathroom and to grab a cup of coffee while I leave you here alone with it."
And I'm the dumb one?
And in 4 seconds, he could have avoided more social media ridicule for cops and himself by simply letting them get their car and leave. I mean dayum, is it that hard to get in a duty bound mind?
