To Protect and to Serve II

It's not that deep.

And it's not even worth arguing over any longer. People see what they want to see and hear what they want to hear. But damned if we've ever ended up on the same side in this subject matter before.

But overall, sorry for dragging you into this.

Well, there's your first mistake.

But why do I get the feeling you think all cops are arrogant jerks?

Again, most people that are panicking and in a "fight or flight" mentality don't have the focus or time for subtle hints. Military and survivalist training may sharpen those skills, but for the average person with a screaming mom/wife/family anxious to evacuate, there was no reason to be illusive.

You are not defending this cops obfuscation and toying around, are you?

I don't think he was being a jerk. I think he was telling them to wait until they left then get their car. He was probably told that once the baracades went up no one was to enter or exit. He understood their plight and was trying to give them a way out. They were so angry they were not listening to what he was saying. That was just my observation.

Could he have point blank told them to move the baracades and get their car? Sure. But if he did and something happened he could have gotten in trouble. The way he did it he protected himself from disobeying an order. Jmo

Again, given the circumstances and conditions, who is at fault here: a panicking group or the jerk cop?

Just let the people leave...

No, I am a cop and I must protect this barricade in to and out of this garage at all costs. You are not allowed to take your car out of this garage because you might use it to actually drive to safety which is wrong.

Which means you still haven't watched the video nor listened to what he said. But, I'm done arguing because it seems at least two of you aren't smart enough to see what happened. And no amount of explanation can convince you otherwise.

Enjoy being in that 0.1% of willful ignorance.

F@@$ the silly azz order.

You still don't see the problem? It was silly for them to be barricade Nguyen in the first place. Even more ridiculous to not just let these people leave instead of wasting time playing charades and riddles with people that are trying to evacuate.

Think what you want. I know what I saw and I know what I've experienced in my life.

And in before Ras claims victory, yet again, by saying, yet again, I "lost" the debate.

If by bowing out because others aren't smart enough to look objectively and rationally at this, I'll accept that "defeat."

So...

Why was it barricaded to begin with?

No, you will take this lose for finally admitting that the cop was being a jerk. It only took 4+ hours for you to admit it.

You're dumber than that cop over the 4 mins he lost.

Could he have point blank told them to move the baracades and get their car?

He pretty much did. But anything short of tearing off his badge and hurling it in the garbage before ripping the barricade down while screaming "eff the man!" will never make some happy.

I'm not stupid. You have a bias towards cops and I'll give you that. It's damn hard to look at these videos and and say, yeah the cops are right, but for some reason you defend them?

I never admitted he was a jerk. I have stated, will continue to state and can recognize those two weren't "panicked" or "fight or flight", just ****ing stupid.

And I also know how to spell "loss."

Just admit the cop was a jerk and should have said go get your car and we're good.

It wouldn't have been that serious. He wouldn't have even been on social media if he would have just exercised a little common sense.

But again, cops are "duty bound"... no room for common sense. Just follow orders.

To look at this as anything other than the simplification of what it is, i.e. "We can't move the barrier, you can't move the barrier while we're here, but hey, we're leaving, make your own decision" is stupidity.

I'm not defending the cop in this instance as he went as far as he probably could without, again, saying it outright or drawing a damn picture. I am saying those morons needed to actually listen to what was being said instead of being offended and not paying attention. The cop repeats the whole "we're leaving and you make an adult choice" several times. And instead of getting hit with the lightning bolt of realization of what he was saying, the moron drives over the curb instead of waiting five minutes for them to leave and moving the barriers (the adult choice) and leaving.

And somehow you think you need to side with the ones that aren't smart enough to figure this out? It's like the movies where someone says "now, I can't tell you about this because you don't have clearance. But I happen to have the file right here on my desk and I'm going to the bathroom and to grab a cup of coffee while I leave you here alone with it."

And I'm the dumb one?

And in 4 seconds, he could have avoided more social media ridicule for cops and himself by simply letting them get their car and leave. I mean dayum, is it that hard to get in a duty bound mind?

lol @ you continuing to use duty bound when you have no idea what it is.

The only people ridiculing cops on social media are idiots like yourself that can't grasp the simplicity of what happened. It's all good though. Gave me something to chuckle at, but fearful of the future if you've had children.

Please don't tell me you have offspring...

I never called you dumb, you're far from that. I will challenge you on your beliefs when they dissect from mine.

All you have to do is just say the cop should have told them to leave and this bludgeoning you are receiving will end. Not "practically" or "implied"... just leave.

I called hiM dumber than the cop that lost 4 mins of his life when he has spent 4+ hours trying to defend the cops actions.

Still waiting for his comments on the trigger happy off duty cop that assaulted the motorcyclist...

I challenge you to actually admit the two in that video were idiots for not picking up on what the cop was saying.

I further challenge you to admit you watched it with an automatic bias and zero objectivity.

Perhaps then we can find common ground to have a rational discussion on whether his actions were or were not correct.

You see, this entire hurricane/parking incident is a distraction from the real conversation that Grand does not want to have. That cop should be under the jail for attacking that motorcyclist.

He did tell them to leave. You just can't bring yourself to admit they were too stupid to pick up on it.
