Clemson does fine on defense running the spread with pace.

Clemson doesn't play with the same pace as Oregon and I wouldn't say they are great on defense either. They gave up 34 or more points 4 times this year. Can't win the SEC like that.

I get the doubts with Helfrich.

But please for the love of football.

How could you want CZA over him? What exactly has he proven so above and beyond the Frich?

Everyone said Debord ran Butch's offense. With Helfrich, at the LEAST we know he is a good quarterback coach. If Chip Kelly actually ran the offense and Helfich failed, then Butch could just go back to doing it. (Azzani would already be Butch again)

I get that. But here is another look at these statistics.

They were ranked 15th in the nation yet ran the least amount of plays out of the top 34 teams in the nation. Scoring and offense was never a problem with Helfrich running Oregon, defense was. They only ran 892 plays this year. Debord and UT ran 896. So basically they ran the same amount of plays yet Helfrichs offense was ranked 15th and Debord and UTs offense was 40th.

Helfrichs offense was great at Oregon. He would be just as good here and an instant upgrade.

Nice stat for sure.

Was that least amount of plays per game?

If not keep in mind they didn't play a bowl game

Is there a stat for possessions per game?

DeBord chose to move on. He wanted to spend time with his family back in Indiana and he wasn't a huge fan of Knoxville or the recruiting grind. CBJ wanted him to stay and would have reorganized the staff to keep DeBord in a less demanding role.

It's Helfrich, right? We're all just waiting on them to announce this? I mean, obviously Butch has known this was going to happen for months now so he already has his guy lined up, right? And it's Helfrich? Anybody?

According to TeamRankings.com Oregon ran 77.3 plays per game. UT ran 72.4. Oregon did play one less game than UT and UT had 76 plays in their bowl game.

Baylor and Texas Tech had an average of 88 plays per game on offense! Wow.

:hi:

I do want Butch to make sure he leaves no stone unturned looking for the right guy.. I just feel like Helfrich is it. But either way, lets hope its a good hire and they have success with coaching QBs.

No. That's my daughter so even in the wrong I'm gonna defend her. But then again if Mixon was my son and he was in the wrong I would defend him as well. Bringing up family relations doesn't tell us what is right or wrong. We are always gonna be biased toward our family.

In this situation as an objective party with no relation I can say both parties were in the wrong. The girl should not have struck Mixon. He should not have retailiated with excessive force.

My problem is with the fact everyone is giving the woman the pass and saying things like hitting a woman is never justified. No. Hitting another person without any physical provocation is never justified. The double standard regarding women getting a pass for hitting men with no physical provocation is what I have an issue with.

Thank you

I think he likely will be the hire and it will be a sexy one. I just think it's fools gold. I Enjoyed your point of view!

If we do get Helfrich as OC and Shoop is able to get his defense clicking with an improved S&C... I'll be right back

Helfrich plus Shoop is a lethal combination. Add Rock, Simon and Fair, and this legitimately will be one of the best coaching staffs in the nation imo. Proven OC/QB coach, proven DC, LB and DB coaches will aid development and recruiting. Hoke would be icing on the cake if that happens.
