Depth Chart released

Moseley got beat by the following people for TDs

Matt Dieter BG. 55 yards Td

Reggie Davis UGA 63 yards Td

Sterling Shepherd OU game tying Td

Antonio Callaway UF Game winning TD.

That's just off the top of my head.

Remember those 25 points Butch has been looking for. Well.

Look the kid needs to be better. Because...BECAUSE he has the ability to be better!

Stop defending something that shouldn't be.

I believe Shoop will help him reach his potential.

You do realize Sutton got beat by some of the same guys, right? Should he not start?

Ok. You've convinced me. Kahlil isn't a bust.

This is just another stupid coaching decision by Butch Jones. Just like going for a FG on the 6 inch line or going for 1 when you're up less than 2 scores.

Butch Jones....master of pulling defeat out of the jaws of victory.

The only thing stupid... is this post.

It is STUPID to call a guy a bust before the first game of his Sophomore year and ESPECIALLY a defensive lineman.

I'm not majorly worried about who's "starting" on defense. The reason for that is that I bet everyone in the defensive two-deep, particularly the front 7, gets plenty of significant reps. Might even go three-deep up front at times. Shoop is a big believer in rotating a lot of bodies to keep everyone as fresh as possible, and we to some extent have the luxury of doing that this year. I'm relieved to see that too, especially seeing the way our defense struggled late in games, partially because our first string was tired from taking too many reps over the course of the game.

This!!! Butch has said no guys will be playing a bajillion snaps again like they had too last few seasons when the guys would get worn down...a depth chart is just something to look at for fans and the opponents....we know how deep we are I'm not worried about a depth chart

I don't see Trent Thompson (Georgia) listed as a backup. I don't see Terry Beckner (Missouri) listed as a backup. The other 5 star DTs from his class were already starting LAST YEAR. There is no way they would still be backups as SOPHOMORES.

Hate to say it but Kahlil is looking like a bust. There is no excuse for him not beating out a mediocre talent like Danny O'Brien. Its not like the guys he's playing behind are gonna be high NFL draft picks. Both Vickers and O'Brien are fringe NFL players at best.

All in all I'm super disappointed in him.

Ridiculous. A true Soph DT doesn't beat out a RS SR in the SEC and you throw down judgement on his career. My lord why do you think you know talent?

Well that's not good to hear. Kahlil was the last guy I thought would be a bust from our 2015 class.

I guess throwing guys around at camps doesn't translate to the field.

Here's to hoping Shy is 100% soon. We need a 5 star to play like a 5 star at DT.
Did KMac take your girlfriend or kick your dog? You have been going after him hard the last few days.

Colton Jumper caused Florida's first TD and his holding penalties resulted in Oklahoma's tying TD in the 4th quarter.

Starting Jumper over Kirkland cost us those first 2 games.

It's hard to argue against this.

Jumper clearly has skills and ability, but I think it's in a back-up role on this team. I think the pressure of being starting Mike got to him in those games. He looks like a super-sub type player.

I wouldn't read too much with Khalil being behind Danny. Danny has been a Vol workhorse and has played well with significant reps his whole career. To me this reads like "coach trying to motivate" someone who should be a big-time leader on this team. There is also, no doubt, some senior seniority at play here. Khalil has more upside and more big play ability but Danny might be the better total package at this time.

Saturday coaching decisions are the only question mark against Team 120. Everything else about Team 120 is play-off ready. Championship-in-waiting.

There's a lot of hand wringing going on in here over a couple PDFs that don't really matter.

Curt Maggit was our starting SLB on the official depth charts for the first half of 2013 (which he redshirted). Marlin Lane was listed as the starter over Jalen Hurd in 2014 and didn't even have half as many snaps carries as Hurd. Also in 2014, Magitt was listed as the starter at SLB and Vereen at DE....Maggit played most of the snaps at DE over Vereen.

These depth charts don't have very much bearing on who will play the most snaps.

There seems to be a lot of concern from people who either don't really know the game of football, or are recruiting stargazers. A starting line up, particularly on defense, just means that those players will take the first snap of the game. This depth chart could also look very different by the Florida game.

was waiting for everything to calm down but was going to say the same. This is exactly what coach Butch has said over the last couple of years. My guess is it will be what comes out of his mouth in the presser.

O'Brien has got a lot of praise from coaches this year and is being honored for his hard work.

My 865 post ;)

Not surprising to see Danny O'brien and Kendall Vickers on top of the depth chart. Butch usually goes with the older guys. DT is basically a 4 man rotation and I would surmise KMac and Tuttle play more snaps per game than the other two guys. Some of you get hung up on who's starting. Thought I'd share that since I keep seeing Dobbs for Heisman trash KMac and calling him a bust

D4H is overreacting.
Under normal circumstances, 5*s start.
Maybe KMac is really a 4*.
But the season hasn't started.
Also, he has 3 more years to make an impact.
So we shouldn't jump to conclusions.
Still early in his career.

I think your blowing this way out of proportion. When Shoop cycles in subs as the offense does Kmac will be there. Your talking about within the first 2 minutes of the game.

And why do you keep saying dumb decision by Butch? This is Shoops defense and his rodeo. There might be some positions to worry about but DL isn't one of them.

People who don't know a damned thing about what they're talking about post really dumb things. That's why.

In all fairness scheme had a LOT to do with some of those. Especially the UF TD.

All players can and should work to get better. If Shoop thinks the kid should start then I have zero concern.

I'm still waiting on D4H to explain to me why Marquez North didn't go 4th round or earlier in the draft like he guaranteed. I won't hold my breath

i thought the Deutchland player jakob is on the team. i was hoping to see him play. is he gone?

No...just at a position (H-back), that isn't charted right now. If we use the offset I more than a little, he might actually be a starter.

Because GMs are "idiots". And will still be making decisions in future drafts. :wink2:
