Well that's not good to hear. Kahlil was the last guy I thought would be a bust from our 2015 class.

I guess throwing guys around at camps doesn't translate to the field.

Here's to hoping Shy is 100% soon. We need a 5 star to play like a 5 star at DT.

he still has plenty of time. Reggie didn't play like a 5 star until senior year.

wait til they finish to describe as busts.. still lots of time

I said he's looking like a bust if he can't beat out the likes of Danny O'Brien (a fringe NFL prospect).

We better hope this is another dumb personnel decision by Butch because top tier recruits don't sit behind fringe NFL prospects like Danny O'Brien in their 2nd year.

This is not a good development.

McKenzie not starting means the SENIOR Danny O'Brien is pretty good and I've always thought he never gets enough credit. K-MAC is fine and going to be great. Be extremely happy we have this kind of depth!

And for everyone acting like O'Brien starting over KMac isn't a big deal, I didn't see anyone posting that in their guesses for our 2-deep in the off-season.

Everyone assumed KMac would take the starting job as a sophomore. Especially after all the news about his weight loss.

I will reiterate, O'Brien and Vickers are not high round NFL guys. A guy who everyone assumed was can't miss like Kahlil should easily be outplaying fringe NFL prospects like Danny O'Brien and Kendal Vickers.

I think your blowing this way out of proportion. When Shoop cycles in subs as the offense does Kmac will be there. Your talking about within the first 2 minutes of the game.

And why do you keep saying dumb decision by Butch? This is Shoops defense and his rodeo. There might be some positions to worry about but DL isn't one of them.

but they have played a lot of SEC snaps
Vickers is #23 2018 DT
O'Brien is #28 2017 DT
both will be drafted and play in the league

What cracks me up is all the folks convinced Warrior should be starting, etc. As if they've seen enough to say he's so much better than the likes of Abernathy, TKjr., or even Gaulden. Warrior hasn't played a single snap of college ball. Do these folks get special access to the closed practices, or even know someone who does? Are these folks getting paid to coach above high school level? With very few notable exceptions, most likely they're not. Like most everyone else on the board, they probably have nothing more to go on than what they read and watch on here. There doesn't seem to be anywhere near the talent disparity between Warrior and the other guys in the secondary that there was between Kirkland and Jumper last year. Not that your average fan would actually know that for sure either. I can even understand folks scratching their heads a bit about Moseley starting over Martin because they at least have some on-the-field product from last year to base their opinion on.

I hope that he does ball out and win a starting spot, it would mean he's more talented than some really talented guys. And I love reading this is board partly because everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm not saying anything about that at all either, I just think it's funny that some average fans with no more access than what's on the Internet are so adamantly convinced they know more than the coaches.

Their development of KM appears to be extraordinary.

Opening game depth charts don't mean anything. These "starters" at defensive tackle will probably end up playing lower amount of snaps then the "backups".
