It will if Croom gets physical. He looks the part for sure. As usual he will be a huge weapon in the orange zone. Wolf is a stud and already playing the part.

I'm in wait and see with Croom. I like him a lot, but he hasn't shown he can be a consistent weapon at all.

That's all good but Medley has struggled more with his accuracy than his length. Medley has the leg to go 50+ at any time. It's his inaccurate kicking that didn't allow Butch to take many chances on him from the range last season.

When you have an 18-19 year old kick multiple 49+ yarders in enormously high profile games you don't really expect him to make it. We talk about his "accuracy" because of three kicks he missed that many NFL kickers wouldn't have made given the circumstances. Butch set him up to fail early in the year more than any other player on the team and it hurt his confidence the rest of the year.

Which was my point. The uprights were more narrow than normal uprights by at least 10' - and he made every kick. All kicks were clean with good rotation.

He's a junior now and been through a lot of adversity. I expect big things from him.

It's a good one too!

I agree, jave. He actually got in a little scuffle, which I see as a good thing. They threw a couple corner jump balls to him in the end zone that he did fight to catch, albeit unsuccessfully. I'm glad he's working with Coach Scott. A David Martin type pass catching TE is what he is capable of being IMO. He doesn't yet look like a line blocker.

Not a lot of talk about Croom this camp but he is my pick to click.

He and Dobbs have some good chemistry together and I think he is a going to be a nightmare for defenses to cover

I sure hope so and I think it will happen as well

Double agree.

Also, I'll be pissed if he balls out because coaches didn't put him there earlier lol

That was Dools' plan for him when he got canned. It fell by the wayside when Butch arrived. I've said and thought it from the first time I saw him. Very strong, tall, imposing presence. He could make a very fast TE or he can continue to be a specialist in the orange zone WR. I opt for the TE.

It was somewhat embarrassing to see him and Kendrick try to double team Barnett in drills today. Barnett went right at Croom, who tried to grab him by the neck. Didn't work. :) At least he tried against a future top 10 draft pick. Will see how he toughens up. Hope it works out.

Is it even possible for Barnett to have a breakout year? He's already broken out, imo. But I do love what they're implying. I want Barnett to be such a bad azz that it takes the shine right off the pretender at TAMU.

I've thought for a while that Barnett may have an absolutely insane game when UT travels to A&M; showcasing himself w/ MG on the opposite sideline.

Ya I expect him to be more like Gronk or Graham, rarely blocking. A chip on the way to a route is probably the most DL contact we'll see from him, especially early.
