Butch Jones job is safe in 2016, for all the reasons previously posted. What I hope to see is continued growth in the program - recruiting (own Tennessee and win out of state talent), development (play smarter, better), results (any loss is a costly, hard won victory for the other team). If Jones builds the program to consistently compete in the top echelon of the SEC, Tennessee will be in the top echelon of the FBS. The Ws and Ls will both come. Some years, the Vols will play for championships; some years, they won't. Win more post-season games than not. Be a tough playoff/bowl opponent. Be a team people want to watch. Be the program that inspire opponents fans for years should their team wrest a rare victory from the Vols. Become the program that builds upon the already sizeable Big Orange caravan. Be the team who's traveling fans make the other city's year - our conviviality, our good nature, our generosity, our humility, our appreciation of our hosts, our unparalleled willingness to be parted from our money with nary an ill feeling - a visit from the Vols should leave them fiscally sound, imbued with good will, and wishing for our return.
