What if a commit doesn't make grades? What if he has off-field issues? What if he doesn't progress as anticipated or regresses? What if he doesn't show his "commitment" in his work ethic or training regimen? Do you know what goes on behind the scenes? Didn't think so. . . You hear a disgruntled kid's side of being dropped, while the coaching staff isn't able to comment.
Want to talk about commitment? Look at Brooks. He tore his ACL two times and missed his last two years of football. Why didn't the staff drop him with their commitment issues? If the kids you are talking about deserved a scholarship on NSD, they would have one. Sometimes, moving on is what's best for everybody anyways.
