I played with Shawn. Well, I had a jersey and rode on the bus. There was a lot of talent on those Oak Ridge teams; Jerry Colquitt, Shawn, Mike Caldwell, a guy named Curtis Booker was as gifted an athlete as any of them.
But man, Shawn was special. He could break a defender's ankles while he was still five yards away.
He and Todd Helton at Central graduated the same year and played against each other in some of the best games seen in East Tennessee.
Clemson program not in same class w UT.
Historically.
Championships.
Competition.
Facilities.
Greenville?
Rodgers and Richardson are there for now cos Butch passed.
Tee clowning Dabo from the start.
Kids don't care about a hundred years ago and their last 10 years is way over ours. They have better WRs in the league than we do. Greeneville is awesome. They wear orange and have a stadium by the water. Atmosphere and stadium are right on par imo

"atmosphere and stadium on par"
that got a good laugh out of me
Don't get me wrong but east Tn basketball is absolutely awful. You have two top teams year in and year out( Bearden, Fulton) that's it. In my honest opinion he is a d-1 basketball player. Not a high profile school guy like Duke, Kansas, KY, NC, ect... But he can play at every other school in the SEC. I have watched him play both an in my opinion he has a higher ceiling and chance to be a pro in football. Now before you say what are you some sort of scout... I played college basketball at the lower level, could have played higher but didn't have the grades( as you can tell by my grammer and spelling) and played against some good players some made it to the NBA ( Shannon Brown, Curry) so I do have a little knowledge on the game.Has Butch or Barnes or any staff from UT expressed their concerns about Tee wanting to play both sports too?
Seems to me like he's dead bent on playing college basketball too. He most certainly has the basketball talent too if he wanted to play here at UT or any other school. He might be 5 star recruit in football but isn't he a 4 star in basketball?
I think he can play both & play them both greatly. Is his career in professional sports better for football or basketball? That's a hard question to answer for a lot of reasons. If it wasn't for concussion/injury concerns in football then I think no doubt it's football.
However, he's a great basketball player too & has a less chance at concussions in basketball. I would love for him to come to Knoxville & play both sports though but if it came down to one sport it would have to be football. That's where he's probably going to be a superstar.
Not going to make a difference

Whether we like it or not Hunter Johnson is a great QB. He might not have fit our system or whatever other thing we want to say but he will be a great player for Clemson (or wherever he goes).
More than one person told me when OR played Central in the playoffs that was the best high school game they ever witnessed. I think Central won.
