Well that shoulder to shoulder contact made his helmet come off. Since it's a UT player doing the hitting, that is probably enough for a post-season bowl ban.

Yes. But the hit was actually in 08 when he was still playing further from the line before Monte came. Which honestly makes it even more amazing:

I know that, but the refs don't. They ring our players up for looking at opponents too hard. It is NOT a penalty, but the umps would still throw it. You guys know it. We get bent over after just every big hit now.

They also get Upper East Tennessee powerhouse Dobyns-Bennett High School every year as well. Oak Ridge has been a good football team since I can remember back when I was a child.

My brother-in-law went to DB & we drove down to Oak Ridge for years to watch them play DB. They were always good games. Oak Ridge won most of them at home but not always. Anybody remember Shaun Summers kid at RB back in the 90's?

Boy, was he fun to watch. I believe he went to South Carolina for college & played all 4 seasons there & put up some decent stats. I can't remember if he was drafted or not but seems like some sort of injury derailed his pro football career.

Also don't forget that the sun, earth, mars, neptune, and Jupiter would have to properly align. He couldn't bring elite talent to UT...he'd be bringing in 2* gems at a program like UNC or Va. Tech which would mean he'd be losing wih a less talented team to less talented teams...he was not nor will be ever be a successful big time cfb head coach.

Played for db at one point and I loved playing in that bowl field of theirs.

I believe you're talking about Shawn Summers...he played DB at UT from 92-95.

Yeah. Shawn & not Shaun. I thought he went to South Carolina for some reason. Are you sure he played here at UT & as a DB instead of a RB? Thanks! Edit: You're right. Just checked UT website & saw him listed as DB from 92-95.
