2016 Election Thread Part Deux

I agree the economy will be a huge issue. But Trump's problem will be that over the course of the next 6 months he will not be able to get away with "The economy is going to be so great, it will be incredible, trust me."

He is going to be confronted with the question of "How?" and since his answer won't be limited to 30 seconds because there aren't ten people on stage, he's finally going to have to answer.

And he doesn't have one.
Makes no difference. The last 8 years have been a failure, and she has hitched her horse to that wagon.

The economy is shifting. Things are a little bit better for the lower class. They are MUCH better for the elite. The middle is screwed, particularly those working in trade or factories.

Clinton made a mess of things in WVa. with her comments. She'd have been better off saying simply that she regrets those comments, that she does think that over time we are going to see a move away from fossil fuels, that it is inevitable given the science and increasing efficiency from other sources. She could say the next generation can either face facts and re-direct their effort into other fields, or deal with the uncertain future of the coal industry.

She was doomed to lose there. She'd have come across as a lot more credible had she just met it head on, and said what everyone is thinking.

As far as I'm concerned the GOP is dead. Literally dead. The party can't survive when 40-55% of the party is over the age of 55.

I'll be anxious to see their approach to generating voters in about 20 years when white people are no longer the majority in this country.

The last 8???? Hell I think the last 12 years have been a failure. Bush's second term was awful and Obama just hasn't impressed me but I think he was a better choice than the alternatives

Cool. Why not pursue that strategy now, GOP?
I'm game for securing the border, and closing the door behind the ones already here, and deporting the ones with criminal records. Give the rest work visas, and make them learn English, give them no benefits for x amount of years. If they stick it out for x number of years with no benefits, grant them citizenship with voting rights, etc.

Be careful 72, that's close to what Rubio proposed during the primaries and got slammed by your boy Ted for.

:good!:

LOL at "make them learn English"

The rest of the GOP is not on board, hence Trump's popularity.

your right.....but he says he is indy.....that is my point....he is making the indy part up.....

This makes no sense. You're implying he's a D. My question is why would a D lie about being a budgetary conservative? The implication of that question is that he is not a D.

It helps a country to have borders, a common language, a common culture, a set of laws to be obeyed.....kind of like Japan, etc. Without those, you really don't have a country, just a bunch of individuals pulling in different directions. Maybe that is what you want. Me, me, me......screw the country.

Many Ds "speak" of being conservative on the budget, they just do not know what that means......
