The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

I watched their spring game. Sadly it wasn't as much of a comedy as last year's when they had like five or six turnovers. That offense is still tough to watch though.

I would think it'd be hilarious to watch as a UT fan.

Not sure if you're being snarky or not. I try to watch all of our opponents spring games. vandy actually looked like they sort of knew what they were supposed to do this year. They still lack playmakers but this spring game was much better than their last. On another note Florida found a kicker and a quarterback.... who knew

You can never judge a QB by the spring game. Let's see how he handles legit games. They do have a kicker though.

Funny Vandy story. Last week my job required me to meet with three individuals who are part of the Vanderbilt leadership. We met on the Vanderbilt campus. Right in the middle of our discussion my phone rings. My ring tone is Rocky Top! When my phone rang there was dead silence for about two seconds and I said "excuse me" and took the call. After the two second period of silence, the Vandy lady across the table from me began laughing!! After my conversation on the phone I stated GO VOLS!

One of the funniest things about Vandy fans is how they talk about UT as if the schools aren't even in the same conference.

They reference the streaks Florida and Bama have against us and the fact that we haven't won the SEC in a long time, while ignoring the fact that the Commodores have been the SEC's door mat for about 80 years and have never/will never win anything of significance.

"Dobbs is a good QB who has bad games throwing the ball. If he gets hurt, that means a redshirt freshman starts. Also, from what I hear, they are still short of OLs."

That shows how knowledgeable they are about UT football. Dormady would have started all 12 games for them last year and probably found more success than deer in headlights turnover machine McCrary.

Such idiots over there. You're right about QD, but they're wrong in that he won't be a redshirt freshman this year, he's a true sophomore who got some game time last year, made some good throws, has some experience and is far more talented than any scrub QB they have on their highschool roster.

Also, we're anything but short on OLs this year.....Thomas, Wiesman, Jones, Sanders, Kendrick, Hall, Robertson, Richmond, Boulware, Raulerson, Mosley, Blair. That's 12 guys, most of which have a lot of meaningful game experience, pretty much all who have a lot of talent. We're in the best shape OL-wise than we've been in a very long time in terms of talent, experience and depth.

Lol. We are about to steal their only 2018 recruit as well.

There was a thread going on over there whining about them being the only P5 team except for Utah that didn't have a 2017 commit. And excuses ranging from "it's just these guys' junior years" to "they haven't taken the ACT yet."

And of course, the negative posts with the writing on the wall about being SOV get down voted.

Less than 9 months to NSD and still 0 recruits for Mason. Is he pulling a Dooley and hoping to get fired so that he can go back to being an assistant?

The top recruits that Mason is going after don't commit early, they like the signing day drama of switching baseball hats and pulling anchors out of their pockets.

And not forgetting they've taken slightly undersized classes the past two years (20 and 19) to make up for the serious redshirting going on over the past couple of years. But all in all, they have close to 30 players in that Junior year class going into 2016. Provided maybe one or two are potential draft eligible this next cycle (Webb and Cunningham), Vandy is in for a huge hit after the 2017 season that the recruiting stats are not looking favorably on.

i love their gloating thread about how we didn't have any draft picks the last two years. until the truth smacks them in the face that we still put a whooping on them without NFL talent, what are we going to do with NFL talent.

It's hilarious until they realize that our draft eligible players came back to help us win a title. Since they never have to worry about that, their players left.

If recruiting keeps going like it is, they won't ever beat us again in my lifetime, and I'm under 40.

Maybe somebody should've told their defense to do that last year BEFORE the game, not after our second string was already in.
