The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

I hate to even acknowledge this, much less see it play out and become reality, but Vandy has a chance to go bowling this year. Going into the TN game, I hope they're 5-6, and have been pretty competitive in all their SEC game losses. I want them to be full of confidence and faith, and truly believe they're going to win the UT game. It will be glorious to crush their hopes and dreams in the tune of a 40 point blowout.

But for real, looking at their schedule, I came up with this conclusion:

Sep. 1 vs USC: Winnable toss-up game. I'm going to say they win this one.
Sep.10 vs. MTSU: Win
Sep. 17 @ GT: Winnable toss-up game. I'm going to say it's a probable loss though.
Sep. 24 @ Western Kentucky: Win
Oct. 1 vs. UF: Loss
Oct. 8 @ UK: Winnable toss-up game, likely a loss however.
Oct. 15 @ UGA: Loss
Oct. 22 vs. Tenn State: Win
Nov. 5 vs. AU: Small chance at winning this game, very high percentage of being a loss.
Nov. 12 @ Mizzou: Winnable toss-up game, could go either way.
Nov. 19 vs. Ole Miss: Loss
Nov. 26 vs UT: Loss

I got em winning 4

I don't know how good MTSU is supposed to be for the upcoming year, but I could see Vandy losing to them (Like they should have done this past season). The only sure fire win I see for them on that schedule is Tennessee State and maybe WKU.

Nothing would make me happier aside from us going 15-0.

If last year is any indication, they will be debating which bowl they are invited to with a 5-7 record since 5-7 teams can be in bowls now if the numbers work out right. There's a possibility they'll be 4-7 when UT rolls into Nashville.

its crazy they talk about 5-7 teams making it to bowls, especially Vandy. Vandy doesn't travel at all and they want to reduce that even more by taking some tiny bowl no one cares about against another team that no one cares about

When the time comes in that game I hope we pull our first string and let our backups have their way with them. My only request is for Butch to call it like our firsts are in there. I like seeing our 2/3rd string get to play but I would like to see them get to really play when they're in.

That actually is the perfect type of game for that.

From that viewpoint, it would be nice to have Vandy as our first or second game of the season. Let the 2/3's get in the game and truly run the playbook against something somewhat resembling an SEC team, and in a game that has meaning.

I think you're giving them way too much road credit here. I think they lose to Western Ky and Mizzou on the road and will lose badly to GT and Ky which you have as winnable.
