The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

I'm interested to see if David Williams and alumni care enough to let Stallings go. 1-5 in the NCAAT in their last 6. I think that spans back to 2007 I heard. That lone win was in 2012 when they somehow managed to beat UK's NC team to win the SECT then lose in the 2nd round of the NCAAT.

The choke jobs that come out of West End are comical and confusing at the same time. It's been posited that Stallings grinds on kids so much that by the end of the season they're ready to just be done with him. If that's true, it's amazing he's still managed to recruit as well as he has and that the current roster hasn't "warned" recruits.

Absolutely not. Finebaum had this guy from the Tennessean on his show today to talk about Vanderbilt and Kevin Stallings. He pretty much confirmed my own suspicions about the Vanderbilt hierarchy and their approach to athletics. He pretty much said Vanderbilt's main focus is on academics rather than athletics and "Kevin Stallings has the team in good academic standings." There's virtually no way this motivates the school into looking at replacing Stallings.

The Tenneseean huh ?

Vandy's utter implosion against Temple during Mason's first ever game as head coach will forever remain one of my favorite sports memories. I was practically beside myself with glee as I watched their football team become Same Ol' Vandy again within a span of 60 minutes. All of their hopes and dreams of "owning the state" vanished so quickly that the 2011-2013 era seems like it never even happened.

I wish the full game was on YouTube.

Not more than Jones at LSU, but they definitely underperformed in a year that everything had supposedly come together.

Just looking at NBA draft picks from Vandy vs LSU shows that Jones is not even close to underperforming to the level of Stallings..3 out of the first 31 chosen in 2012 and not even an Elite 8 to show for it..Pathetic.....

Yeah, but for Vandy fans, 2011-2013 was the only era they remember.

Talk about a quandary, on one hand you have someone who is highly critical of the Vandy program and doesn't say nice things on VM. On the other hand, he's a former Vandy player.

So, does the benevolent dictator over there ban him for speaking ill about the state of the program? :)

I too like Coach Mason and was extremely impressed the way his Stanford defenses dismantled the likes of Oregon's high powered offense. Coach Mason is a good man, a better person. He is of very high character.

I know football. Less than some, more than others, having played 18 years. Four at VU.

I truly hope he breaks through this season and crushes every doubt I have concerning his ability to lead an SEC football program. I don't believe another team in the league would have kept him after this previous season, if they had come off of three bowl games and two bowl wins. Plus 2 wins over their instate rival.

I don't see his team playing with the type of passion and intensity we saw the 3 years before his arrival.

The team fundamentals, discipline and football IQ, IMO, have declined significantly. We went from the 35th most penalized team in the NCAA in 2013 to 52nd in 14 and 65th in '15. I know everyone has their own measuring stick when it comes to these, but penalties tell me a lot. I only choose to talk about this one area, penalties, I could have selected many other statistics to prove my point.

Scheduling a road game at Georgia Tech at this point is ludicrous. I cannot say how idiotic I believe that decision to be. To me, it's a no brainer that you don't play at WK. I know Mason did not make this schedule, I am just saying, it's not going to help him. Unfortunately

Giving up 53 points to UT said to me that the team completely quit on Coach Mason at the end of last year. A team that could barely throw the ball. You would have never, ever seen something like that against our biggest rival the under CJF.

I hope I am completely wrong because, again, I very much like and respect Coach Mason. I believe this will be yet another losing season. I pray he proves me wrong

A lot of hype for the 2016 season on West End. Here's the crowd at their spring game yesterday:

You know that has to be demoralizing to the team knowing nobody cares enough to show up to your spring game.

Or your regular games for that matter.

1. Why would you be there? 2. That was a while before it started. Crowd was actually larger than I figured it would be...

Wasn't there. Found the pic on Twitter.

Even if the crowd was better, it looks one side of the stadium was completely empty:

After watching the #Vandy Spring Game, I have no idea how any SEC offense will move the ball this year on our Defense. Looks impossible.

Lol. A blind school could make that offense look anemic. The fact they are touting their defense shutting down their offense is hilarious.

I hope to God that this guy is joking. They said last year that we wouldn't score much on them and the game would be close. 53-28 says different. They need to quit kidding themselves and stick to baseball.

It could have easily been 60-14 as well. They scored two in garbage time and Butch called off the dogs early in the 4th.
