'17 MS RB Cam Akers (FSU commit 12/27)

Eh, I highly doubt anything major comes out of it. I would still not count OM out until Akers officially eliminates them.

You guys really take this low expectations thing too far.

Ole Miss is finished. They're gonna lose tons of scholarships and bowl bids for a long time.

USC sanctions should be a slap on the wrist compared to what gonna happen to them.

Ill put money on ole miss getting nothing more than losing a few scholarships. How many times does it take for you to know the ncaa is a joke?

The thing is OM and this situation is the kind of thing the NCAA can flex a little hand down a really harsh penalty and it not hurt their bottom line much. They would never do it to Bama, ND FB, or say UNC or Syracuse BB. I could see them making an example of OM. It also wouldn't shock me if they did nothing.

Probably. At least other coaches can use this for negative recruiting for awhile

That's what I've been saying since this broke...NOTHING will happen to ol piss..absolutely nothing.

I tend to agree, but they may have had a failure to monitor violation with the most recent notice of allegations. If they did, this could make it more than a little sticky. But, like you, I will believe it when I see it. It seems to me that the next step up from failure to monitor is lack of institutional control, which is more serious. I think that Ole Miss is controlling their institution just fine. They know exactly which players all the boosters' money goes to.

You guys are probably right about nothing happening to them but this one feels a little different. When they received the notice of allegations a few months ago they were quick to make a statement saying it was much ado about nothing. Just minor violations.

However on this one the only thing I have heard is they will begin to investigate internally immediately and will cooperate with the AA completely. If the text messages are real, I don't see how it can keep from being serious and this is before anyone begins digging into other possibilities of infractions.

Regardless it is refreshing to be able to watch Finebaum or scan the internet for sports news and see someone other than us being embarrassed.

Miami is laughing at you

The NCAA favors blue bloods. Sure, look at Miami and UNC basketball for examples.

Ole Miss is about as far from blue blood as there is. See the punishments for Donnie Tyndall, Bruce Pearl, Missouri basketball.

Basically the NCAA is best at being inconsistent. But making an example of Ole Miss doesn't really hurt their interests, someone else can just pick up that slack. I think they get hit relatively hard.

I have doubts about the NCAA doing much, but as you've seen with the Title IX lawsuit, it's less about what will happen and more about what could happen.

A recruiter can point to Tunsil's press conference and all he has to say is, "man, that could be bad."

To that point, Kamara typically gets north and south faster than Hurd, who still tends to string out runs and dance behind the LOS.

Dear god. Some of you will never be happy. The runs he "strings out" are designed that way. It's called a power read play.

I see your point and somewhat agree. I just don't think anybody is gonna really get hammered by the double A. If they do pass out tough sanctions they will just be reduced eventually. The double A is a joke imo.

Then why do we freak out and preemptively fire Butch every time they sniff around Knoxville? :scare:
