'17 MS RB Cam Akers (FSU commit 12/27)

I haven't freaked out on here nor will I. So you definitely have your wires crossed. I've seen enough of your post on here to know that you're being a smart ass.

Your sense of humor needs some freon! :w00t:

Good to see you smiling again lil buddy! Our recruiting being so tragic and all. :good!:

Sunshine always follows rain buddy. :) I still think recruiting is not going well.."right now"...but I'd rather be a Vol than anything else

I agree. Neither them or Alabama will see any major discipline.

Oh but if Tennessee got caught doing the same thing, hell would break lose. If the NCAA would stop kissing Bama's and Ole Miss's ass long enough to do anything right, college football would be a lot better off.

You guys are probably right about nothing happening to them but this one feels a little different. When they received the notice of allegations a few months ago they were quick to make a statement saying it was much ado about nothing. Just minor violations.

However on this one the only thing I have heard is they will begin to investigate internally immediately and will cooperate with the AA completely. If the text messages are real, I don't see how it can keep from being serious and this is before anyone begins digging into other possibilities of infractions.

Regardless it is refreshing to be able to watch Finebaum or scan the internet for sports news and see someone other than us being embarrassed.

Problem is, the NCAA is incredibly unpredictable, it's just as likely that they do absolutely nothing as it is they slap them with the death penalty.

The NCAA literally has no standard that anyone can point to or rely on to take an educated guess. Look at the unbelievable goings on at North Carolina....documented cheating and fake academic classes for decades....and it's been known for how long now, a couple of years? And nothing has happened.

Similarly, cheating on a huge scale at Syracuse for over a decade and virtually nothing happened to Boeheim. Frank Haith was paying players, paying for hookers and abortions at Miami....it was discovered and investigated while he was st Missouri....what did he get? 5 games. Pearl lied about whether or not a kid was allowed to come in his house to join a cookout....he was fired and the NCAA mandated he lose 3 years of his career.

Who knows what'll happen to OleMiss? Me personally, I'll take "absolutely nothing" for 500 Alex.

So, on topic, what's the latest skinny on Cam Akers? We need another steamroller. :good!:

I would tell you how I really feel about our chances of landing Akers, but I will get unmercifully persecuted by the "All positive, all the time" scary gun thugs like Butchna. And they call you really mean names and question your gender unfluidity. I need a safe place.. ..But on a serious note. To me Akers recruitment "at this point in time" feels like every other big timer we are recruiting this year..we can not maintain any sort of momentum. I hope, like all the uber positives do, that we have a great season, and swing a great class...but that is a lot of pressure. It feels like there is too much pressure building on the results of this season. One of two things will happen IMO. Either the team will unload 20 years of built up, payback whupass on the rest of CFB, or they will implode on an epic and disastrous scale. There probably is no room for anything between. A disappointing season will destroy competitive recruiting, and bring about the end of Butch, and usher in years, maybe forever, of mediocre second tier SEC status....but dang I am hoping for the great season we need.

A little dramatic don't you think?

Maybe..I hope so. I hope they play like they talk, and beat the crap out of everybody. The team is capable. It should happen. I believe it will...but IF it doesn't...it is going to get UGLY in here. And recruiting will go down the crapper.

You do know that only 8 of 44 in our projected 2-deep for next year are seniors. As long as we don't have a mass exodus of juniors, we'll still be in good shape to win the east next year. Win the east and then you put yourself one win away from the playoffs theoretically.

2016 is the best shot in forever to win it all. But we should still have enough talent to compete in 2017. Especially along the offensive and defensive line. If you're strong at the line of scrimmage you'll be really good in general.

Dang, bud. You're going to develop a nervous twitch over this recruiting thing if you aren't careful.

Focus on the climb and not the mountain.
