Could the Republicans be headed for the nuclear option?

The South Carolina primary results don't mean Trump will be the nominee | Brookings Institution

A brokered convention so that they could run a candidate that completely avoided the vetting of the primary process. Wouldn't that be awesome for our democracy.

I've been calling a brokered convention for weeks now. No way the GOP establishment allows Trump to get the nomination. Then if he goes 3rd party, they can come out and say that he violated some pledge when in reality, the GOP would be violating the pledge against Trump by bouncing him at the convention.

Rubio would Absotively love to have the endorsement of Senator Jeff Sessions for damn sure. With Rubio's co-sponsorship of the GANG OF EIGHT BILL that continues to haunt him, you would have to be a fool not to want that endorsement.

The Jeff Sessions endorsement actually means something.

No this endorsement is better than the Sessions one.

Coburn endorses Rubio, slams Trump | NewsOK.com

Ben Sasse, one of my favorite senators, unleashed a tweet storm last night explaining why he would support a 3rd party candidate over Trump. I'm curious to see if most others fall in line.

Also, 35% of GOPers surveyed in a recent CNN poll say that they will not support Trump in the general. Some of those will come back into the fold but it has to be concerning.

CNN/ORC national.
Among Republican registered voters who would they definitely NOT support in the general:
Cruz 11%
Rubio 12%
Trump 35%

If Hillary or Bernie are on the other side of the ticket, I'll vote Trump.

I can understand the appeal of his fearless response to the Washington power brokers. It was refreshing to see. I love that his candidacy was a spoiler for cocky don't need the base to win Jeb!.

I don't understand why so many informed people still throw all their weight behind him. His message was appealing but his substance is thin at best. He's a nasty guy who is better at throwing mud than he is taking an actual position. And, let's be honest, nobody knows if he will govern as a conservative. Because he's apparently only stumbled upon its principles in the last few years. To say otherwise is to bury your head in the sand.

Still, I'd take my chances with Trump long before if let that lying, traitorous, opportunistic ***** anywhere near the WH.

Biden is a stupid, stupid man. Listen to him talk. When he opens his mouth the country cringes. I seriously doubt his iq cracks 100. If it does there is no excuse for the dumb things he says.

It'll give the late night talk shows something to discuss for at least four years.

Which is why he was elected a hundred times.

Sounds like trump in that regard. And Biden is a very bright man. Far more conservative than Bernie and less baggage than Hillary.
