Can you imagine the opportunities a Trump presidency would give the media? Would be a 24/7 clown show, overflowing with tons of drama and dumbassery to constantly draw our attention to the news networks. Cruz must be hella-pissed that Sessions went for Trump. Cruz is always talking about how they are the leaders on immigration.

Agreed, though I think Trump can win the general as the GOP candidate. Facing Biden or Warren (highly unlikely) would make it significantly more difficult for him to win.

Sasse's position is a trial balloon flown by the Republican establishment to gauge voter response. Sasse is a Harvard AND Yale educated party elitist who won all but one county in Nebraska. The party is using a Senator with a safe seat to float the idea of not backing Trump.

Look Trumpsters, you guys might win the nomination but you won't win the election. HRC, for all her faults, would not lose to Trump. It would be quite reminiscent of her husband's election; where Perot got a big chunk of votes I could see Johnson doing the same if Trump is the GOP nominee.

Biden isn't the brightest spark but he's more electable and moderate than any of the Trump/Bernie/HRC trio.

I believe Trump will pull a bunch of normal democrat voters to his side before the election. I think it will surprise a lot of people.

Off topic of the point I just made, but what is the deal with Warren? Why do so many Dems look at her as a future player in the party. Most others look at her and snicker.

What are you talking about? If you're referring to the 'choker' thing, Rubio was referring to a deleted tweet where Trump spelled it 'chocker'. I know a lot of people have been misrepresenting the vid.

The GOP is basically saying that there is nothing wrong with their party, but that there is something wrong with their voters for not accepting the Party's choice as the nominee. The voters want Trump, good or bad, and if they get screwed out of their choice, there will be a serious backlash. Trump may or may not give them what they want. Who knows what he will do?

Part of me thinks that he will be a vindictive Johnson/Nixon/Obama/Clinton type, and will live to destroy his enemies. Part of me thinks that he will make deals with the Dems, and spend another ton of money. Part of me says that he will get us into more conflicts, and part of me says that he is a pragmatist and will surround himself with good people, and do really well. I don't know.

Thing is, Trump gets only 35-40 percent of his own party against so-so competition. It's hard to see that translating to victory in the general.

The GOP is all kind of messed up. Because they want to run on conservative principles but don't actually want to implement them. I'm ready for the party to actually fracture (as LG has been crying wolf about for years).

And, yes, the problem with trump is that nobody knows. Not even his rabid supporters. I believe trump is modeling his candidacy on Obama's 2008 run: high emotion, empty rhetoric, bumper stickers, and vague enough positions that allow anybody to project their desires onto the candidate.

He's at 49% in this morning CNN poll. Rubio and Cruz are at 15%

The remarkable thing is Trump gets 50% of men, 49% of Women, 47% under 55 y/o, 50% over 55 y/o. 46% college grads, 50% no college

I think that if Hillary is the nominee, which I doubt, the Repubs will turn out even if Herbert Hoover is heading the ticket.

Though I'd say that number would rise in the general.
