CBJ allegedly tells Drae Bowles he 'betrayed the team'

Unless/until something concrete comes up that PROVES these claims, I'm not going to lose a bit of sleep over it. These folks behind the lawsuit are throwing all sorts of crap out there. The trial is taking place in the court of public opinion and it's ridiculous. I very much doubt Butch said such a thing, but even if he did, do we know the context? No. Could it have been a moment of anger and a mistake? Sure. Is that unforgivable? Hell no. We're all human and make mistakes.

I don't know anything.

However, this accusation doesn't sound like the CBJ I've gotten to know from his interviews, newspaper reports, player statements, alumni gatherings, former player comments, talk of "culture" at UT, etc.

I'll need a lot more evidence from a former player to believe it just yet.

Man, sadly I belief Butch Jones , could run into a burning orphanage and save all the children , and the Tennesse Media would still find away to put a negative spin on it.

UT's lawyer issued a statement about the latest aligations. Sounds like they're gonna go to court. Long time reader, first time poster, and don't know how to post the link but saw it on 247sports......

Because he didn't whip out his personal firehose and put out the fire!!!

He should have save all those structural timbers from dying a horrible burning death!!!!

Just as a head's up... Wes Rucker is privately telling people that there will another amendment to the suit involving Jancek and possibly an affair (sexual harassment)... I know it sounds crazy but he probably knows something.

Yeah, but they fired him so...

Why would Bowles make this up?

If he has changed from his original sworn testimony now it's for $$$. After all that's the only thing on the line with this lawsuit. No one is going to jail based on the outcome. And it's a he said she said deal and impossible to find him in contempt. So why not?

Maybe it went like this:

1 Boyles helped the girl
2 Boyles was assaulted for helping
3 Boyles felt bad about "betraying" his team mates and lied when deposed
4 Boyles then was treated poorly by the team and CBJ
5 Boyles decides to tell the truth once he considers the matter further and in the context of being assaulted, ostracized, and called a traitor by the coach

OR------------

1. Teammates saw Boyles with crying girl
2. Teammates think Boyles did the assualt, reacting too hastily
3. Butch hears about it from teammates.
4. Butch calls him "traitor" out of reactionary emotions
5. Butch later apologizes because he finds out Drae wasnt the one who did it; however the media only cares Butch said "traitor, taking it out of context.

Just my hypothetical.
In any case, i still believe in "innocent until proven guilty" not "guilty til proven innocent" like a lot of voltards on here.

I still stand behind Jones and in no way think a grown man like him and his character would say something like that.

Drae is caught up in something he cant handle and is letting other people (lawyers, defenders, whatever) twist things around, taking advantage of him. (theory)

Storm's comin. It may be bad for everyone involved.

Oh, and one more thing: media....leave Peyton the hell alone!!! Last I checked he hasnt butt planted anyones face since college. Don't you think he matured a little in his 15 plus years as a pro??

He's not a participant in the lawsuit, just a witness, no money it for him best I can tell.

If their going to court that means they have a mountain of evidence in their favor and are pretty close to 100% sure they will win. Plus, I don't think the lawyers on the other side ever thought for one minute that UT would actually go to court. I don't think they are prepared at all for that. Their playing this 100% for a settlement out of court.

Great Spin!!! Except for the part, days later, while eating Bowles is assaulted by team mates, and makes police report, one of the assailants admits to police officer that Bowles was telling the truth, and added there was a Hit out on him! The part where Bowles was physically assaulted by team mates, in the presents of paid coaching staff-would be a problem, regardless of the spin.

Who are you trying to kid. He was in a relationship with one of these alleged victims. If there is a settlement or judgement he will get something. Especially if he has changed what's in his previous sworn testimony. If his story hasn't changed I will retract my assertion that he will be paid.

There is no doubt about it, ask almost anyone on this board alone, CBJ has finally built, brick by brick, our Team to the point we will easily win the SEC Championship this year, and most likely the NC. CBJ is just that good.
