I think Drae has too much invested in his story to back away now. It's beginning to look like "I know what I said but it's not what I meant".

If what happened happened then tell the same story over and over. Changes to that story only make you look bad.

A decent third year law student could tear this apart.

I've said this once and I shall say it again. Allegations are not the same as FACTS. Passing judgement before you have seen all the evidence because of how something sounds and your feelings about how it sounds is not how the law works. The way it sounds, (especially given the author of this piece of trash article and her past feel good stories ) will sell a lot of papers but it doesn't win any lawsuits in court.

The Tennessean is a dying rag and its circulation and profits are decreasing year after year because of Online media. They are just stirring the pot to try to sell papers and keep their jobs. One of the many reasons I cancelled my subscription is that I got tired of reading made up crap and having their "reporters" if you could call any of them that dissing the state university. Owned by Gannett corperation which has turned many a good newspaper into an unreadable liberal rag, the Tennessean and their new staff never cease to amaze me. Really it wasn't that great of a paper prior to the shakeup but at least the old reporters made an attempt to report both sides of a story before. Now it reminds me of Huffington post.

I'm absolutely shocked with the posts of some of you. "He's gone"?????? Really?? How about we let the truth come out before you legal beagle keyboard commandos declare our coach fired. Especially when all of you know absolutely not an effing thing about what really happened!!

First of all we all feel for the lady involved however you are suppose to be innocent until proven guilty not the other way around.

And based on the stories of what happen Bowles believed the woman involved before confronting his team mates. And from what I have heard this is a woman Bowles was dating and when confronted by Bowles the woman lied by saying she was raped. Word is Bowles is the one that called the police with the girl not knowing otherwise this would have never been reported.

So without going through a trial yet and gathering information of what happen I would say Coach Jones is upset at Bowles for not talking to his team mates before believing the girl.

I for one think CBJ is completely correct!

You cannot lie to a grand jury, it could potentially wreck an entire case and lead to mistrial down the road. I know the jury will be asked to look at this objectively but how can they now with contradicting stories?

Agree that was my point. If the stories contradicted with the grand jury they would have had to reconcile that. If the stories were the same in the criminal court - then both have made a big mistake.

This.... There is no way they let butch go.. They might suspend him for a game or so, make him take sensitivity classes, but with what he's done here so far, no way he's gone.. That's if it's proved he said it..

Just as a head's up... Wes Rucker is privately telling people that there will another amendment to the suit involving Jancek and possibly an affair (sexual harassment)... I know it sounds crazy but he probably knows something.
