You can't tell me it wasn't predictable!!

A mark of a good movie is not whether or not you can predict the ending or a big twist. The unexpected choice is not necessarily the best choice for storytelling purposes, especially one that spans over multiple generations.

And for the record, no I didn't think it was predictable. I thought it was pretty awesome. Well worth the wait for me.

You seeing a half empty glass in this scenario is hardly surprising though.

Congratulations. That last sentence probably the most moronic statement I've read in my life. I mean wow, you really outdid yourself.

Pretty much all of the Star Wars movies are predictable. There is one (arguably two) plot twists in the entire series. A New Hope was predictable AF and probably the second best Star Wars film.

I haven't seen TFA yet, but from what I've heard it's somewhat predictable, but an enjoyable ride that sets the tone for the next two movies to come.

Yeah. I will say the effects and sound and music are superb. I just couldn't get into the plot and the acting.

So I watched the first two SW movies last night, bought the whole series on Vudu, and YAWN!! Not my cup of tea, but my boys wanted to see them, and liked them. After half heartedly watching the first two, I have no clue what's going on.

You had never seen the Star Wars movies?

Start with the original 3.

Whatever you're doing, don't watch episode 3. Watch 4,5,6 and then pretend the sequels didn't happen.

You'll thank me later.

I'm of the opinion that if you don't see the original three (A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi) during your childhood, it just doesn't resonate as much.

And "the first three" aren't NEARLY as good. Although Return of the Sith wasn't bad, episodes 1-3 go from below average (being kind) to decent to..."meh ok, that wasn't half bad but...my God, Hayden Christianson is a pansy."

My son and I are watching one per night before we go see the new one. We did some research and came to the conclusion that the order to watch is 4,5,1,2,3,6. We watched 1 last night and we'll watch 3 tonight.

I vaguely remember bits and pieces of them from my childhood, was born in 78, so was pretty young when they were big. Never have been much of a scifi inter galactic style movie fan tho. When the most recent series came out, I was tried to watch them, but was lost, and knowing there was a back drop to it, I just didn't waste too much time on them.
I did read that there was a particular sequence they should be watched in tho.

What? This is a terrible idea. Please do not watch them in this order.
