Long story short: "I'm mad that they used everything I'd done to this point academically to judge my potential to be eligible and not ruin the APR that desperately HAD to be higher than every before. Why wouldn't they believe that despite my inability to do High School I would come in and have passing marks in College?"

Tennessee would've taken this kid if he'd only handled his business in the classroom....in highschool. Too big an academic risk, no way we could take him given the risk and where our APR was at the time. He can hate Tenessee all he wants....ain't gonna do him much good when he's trying to move his feet and stay in front of Barnett on Saturday.

Wasn't it not meeting the SEC minimum requirements that caused us not to take him? Why should he be mad at us when he didn't take care of his own business?

Not sure which side he plays but I hope he gets lit up.

hes our LT. not too smart to give a quote like that but it really doesnt make much difference. after a snap or 2 its just going to be a very loud hard hitting game between 2 storied teams. cant wait. hope we can do another home & home in the future

Player sign in Feb. How would you know for certain whether a player would qualify or not?

I'd like to know the whole story. UT definitely elected to stop recruiting Brown. Now, perhaps he would not have qualified. He obviously was NCAA qualified and Ok qualified.
Little question he has some bad feelings about how this was handled. I do too.

Teams see and know with great certainty what a recruit's highschool transcripts look like. Kid was a risk we couldn't take IMO. We desperately needed a left tackle in the 2013 class. Seriously doubt we told him to hit the bricks unless it was absolutely necessary.

CT,

What are most Sooner fans expecting of this game?

theres probably some ou fans who look at the yardage you gave up and feel better about our chances. on the other hand ut can look at the huge rushing total and points scored too. cant read to much into the first game. anyone who thinks this just got easier is mistaken.
its going to be a good old fashioned slobber knocker. just hope our OL can grow up fast.
our OL was the area most worried about and we didnt run block well. those guys up front are going to have to get better in a hurry. thats a HUGE area of concern. your front 7 is much better than what we saw saturday. i REALLY wish we had another game to get ready for the vols.
your RB are going to get some yards. just have to gang tackle. our LB alexander led in tackles again but alot of the time he gives up yac. our DL seems to be deeper than last year so we should able to sub more with little drop off. jury is still out on our db's. they appeared to be better but havent been tested.
if we give mayfield time he should be able to find receivers. we have more weapons than last year.
will be watching dobbs to see if we can contain his arm and runs.
wish it was saturday right now

Derek Barnett and Curt Maggitt are angry, too, Orlando.

That's not a good thing for you, your other offensive tackle buddy, your QB, and your Head Coach.

He was certainly a need we had but as has been chronicled already we could NOT take that chance. I understand how he feels NOW that he's playing for Oklahoma and it being game week and all...prob not the best tactic to let this slip out though...Hopefully our defense will be more organized and play a lot less uptight. He's going to be a great one before he leaves OU...just hope we dont see any of it Saturday....
