I don't like to judge any kid on his chose of schools, but if it was all true about his academics its nobody's fault but his own. He needs to man up and quit blaming everyone else on his poor academic decisions. The funny thing is that he would be a Vol right now if it was all up to him. Let's hope our boys give him a taste of what he missed out on.
True that he met the academic standards of OU, the Big 12, and the NCAA. Classless and baseless attack on this kid. I guess every player who didn't do enough to meet Harvard's acceptance standards is just a lazy POS that didn't apply themselves.

Facts aren't doom and gloom. Focus on facts and stop taking personal shots. It says more about you than me.

MAny in this thread are taking shots at the character of this young man as if he was a dumbass who didn't apply himself. He isn't at remedial school. He was accepted by OU and qualified according to NCAA standards. Those are facts. It's also a fact that Jones did not replace him in that signing class.

Jashon Roberts is better.

Tennessee recruited and took this kid's commitment and were ready to welcome him into the program until it became clear that he hadn't made the grades to be accepted into the university academically. Had no choice but to let him go because of HIS failures.....and now he publicly says he hates Tennessee? Shows that he's young and immature and perhaps wouldn't have been a good fit in Knoxville anyway. Anybody who understands the circumstances of his deal knows it doesn't reflect too well on the kid. Whatever. Kid is at OU, good luck to him with his future.

Clear? I don't see how it's clear. He was cleared by OU, Big 12 and NCAA. Thatvis clear.
An immature 20 year old college student? Wow. Was he throwing beer bottles at cars or raping coeds? You're reaching.
Also , did he say he hates UT or did a teammate say that he said it?
Where has Brown said publicly that he hates UT?

Makes me kind of flattered that he is still bitter he couldn't get in to UT and had to settle for Oklahoma. Shows the magic Butch is bringing back to this program

It isnt either/or. 1st, Jashon is a guard not a tackle. Coming out of HS Jashon was a DL prospect.
Jashon was a great get. Thank Penn State for that one.

I thank Butch...last year Brown was a redshirt for Oklahoma. JR was a freshman All America for us...great trade.

Well if you'd stop reciting the same crap and read what deerpark said, you'd understand the situation. The SEC's requirements are more stringent than those of our Big XII brethren. Hence, he qualified there but did not (or was gravely uncertain as to whether he would) in the SEC. Stop throwing poo at the wall and actually read.

It's important to note that the BigXII standards are lower

Would love to know the differences between SEC and Big12 requirements for high school students qualifying regarding NCAA eligibility??

From my knowledge there is no such rules unless it's JC transfer rules. Only differences would be from the individual schools admissions standards and certainly not mandated from the SEC.

Are you just trying to be argumentative or what? Tennessee recruited, wanted and badly needed a talented OT in 2013...Brown was the guy until he couldn't get into school at Tennessee. Are you saying all schools have the exact same criteria and standards for admitting their students? Surely you aren't.

Brown couldn't get into Tennessee, he qualified for OU so guess where he went....OU. It's that simple.

And wth are you talking about? All immature 20 year olds throw beer bottles at cars and rape female students?? Dude, you're a little sick there aren't you?

And yes, a 20 year old young man who's telling everybody at Oklahoma that he hates Tennessee after it was his academic failures ,and only his academic failures, that kept him from attending Tennessee is both young and immature.

Let me help you with this hoss....a mature young man would've said something along the lines of "I was committed to Tennessee for 9 months but in the end it didn't work out, it was on me, no hard feelings. But now I'm just focusing on doing my job and helping Oklahoma beat Tennessee on Saturday"...not telling all his teammates that he hates Tennessee as though Tennessee did him wrong and he had no responsibility in what happened.

Barnett gets held a lot and it's never called!

Amen to that, BBV, especially last Saturday. I saw twice where he was pulled down by his jersey right in front of the ref. CBJ needs to bring this to the officials attention BEFORE kickoff.

Player sign in Feb. How would you know for certain whether a player would qualify or not?

I'd like to know the whole story. UT definitely elected to stop recruiting Brown. Now, perhaps he would not have qualified. He obviously was NCAA qualified and Ok qualified.
Little question he has some bad feelings about how this was handled. I do too.

Geez, dude. Your constant negativity gets old. You mever miss an opportunity to bash the coaches. Just go cheer for some other team already. Maybe even OU since you seem enamoured with them and their recruiting process.

I read. My point is the kid isn't lazy, stupid or a POS because CBJ elected to end his recruitment and he went elsewhere with no issue.

Negative? Stop focusing on your personal animosity towards me, which is negative BTW.

I question the intelligence of anyone who refers to another as hoss.
Question for you. Has Brown's character and intelligence been questioned by posters in this thread?
A yes or no will suffice.

How about "doesn't matter...it's a freaking message board"?
