Why Nashville?

There is nothing wrong with the field. Looks great.

I'm sure it does, but when you've got someone complaining and fussing the day before the greatest day of the year someone has to say something else.

Wish I could be in Nashville for the game!

What gets me is all the mis-information that is being thrown out of this game. Hotels are jacking up prices, which isn't really true. Tickets are too expensive...certainly not now. Even someone on here said he was told parking was $80.

Hey East TN deadbeats...get your arse to Nashville and lets fill this thing up!! Neyland would not fill up if Vol fans did'nt travel from all over the state on Saturdays. It's the friggin home opener and we are ranked for the first time in who knows when.

Don't embarrass us on national tv with empty seats!!

may have already been discussed but they said on 104.5 the zone in Nashville that this is a huge benefit to neutral site games is you can invite and pay for as many recruits to come watch as you want. Every mid state recruit will be in attendance for the opener...good PR

I'm too lazy to look up the article but I just read somewhere a few days ago that said the Titans field was actually one of the best ones in the league and I could be wrong but I believe that was being stated by the players themselves.

they've had a lot of problems in the past with the field. First they had TSU play all their home games there which added to the problems. TSU has done some repairs on Hale stadium on campus so not as many games are held at Nissan which helps. Then, as the season would wear on, they couldn't keep it plush or green unlike other grass turfs specifically Neyland. It would be late Nov/early Dec and it looked like they were playing on a baseball infield. They wouldn't install field turf because Jeff Fisher didn't want it. Not sure how Munch felt or Whiz feels now but they haven't installed it yet nor talked about the idea. I am glad to see it at least appear better.

Haha I just took the time to go back and find the article since I'm at lunch and it definitely states the field was voted one of the best by the players association....in 2012. So yea maybe the field is crap.

I really wish this game was in Neyland and not in Nashville. I know it's great for recruiting great for fans in middle an west tennessee and all that but I would like to be selfish an wished I was headed to knoxville this afternoon.

Neyland is always best. It is what it is, several reasons they picked Nashville, not a thing we can do about it. It only ramps up the anticipation for the game next week. People will have slobber dropping from their lips next week and of course that should be expected!

Go Vols!

I don't think it will make any difference in recruiting at all and it takes away the number of home games at Neyland Stadium

it isn't like young players in the Nashville area haven't been watching the mighty Vols on TV anyway

Agreed. Its good for some fans who can't make it to Knoxville to see them play live...but thats about it.

I agree. I understand why, but I would love to be in Neyland right now.

You havent read this thread have you? :thud:

It makes no sense to take away a home game to play in Nashville.................take away a home. Home take away game

It just looks weird to have the Titans logo in the in zone and all over the stadium.
