I agree but Dayton has control over a buyout so they can benefit. He's taken them into the elite eight and is a great coach. His buyout will be 3 million or so and I don't know if we can buy him out and pay him.
Actually the coach has control over the buyout during negotiations. The kicker in Miller is that he just signed an extension. I would think that 3 mil would be on the high end but don't disagree that you could be correct.
Mack or Miller. Make the calls, offer the deal to whichever wants to do it first, sign the MOU, introduce the new coach, give them full support, get out of his way, be happy with NCAA tournament appearances every year, build a legacy.
Accoridng to CBS we approached Mack last year and he wasn't interested. May be different now but I'm not so sure. Either mentioned would be a great hire.
@jerrymeyer247: Not expecting assistant coaching changes at Texas. I'm expecting an entirely different coaching staff there next year.
Rick Barnes thoughts? Not done much lately but was very successful in early Texas career and at Providence. Also pretty good recruiter.
