For everyone saying Marshall or Pearl, why not suggest Jay Wright? His salary right now is 2.3 million so it'd be on par with what you'd have to pay either of those two.

If SMU can hire a guy like Brown surely the Vols can stroke a check and do as well or better. The woe is us nonsense is beyond tiresome. Time to start making hires that say we're playing to win.

You all are setting the bar way too high. Here are a few realistic candidates:

Staff - Hiwassee College

Lincoln Memorial University- 2014-15 Men's Basketball Coaching Staff

These are all close to us so relocation expenses will be low. We can probably get them for about tree fidy.

And it was about that time I realized Dave Hart was trying to hire the Loch Ness monster because he was the only one who would take the job for tree fiddy a year. I was like "dang you Loch Ness monster, you can't be coaching no basketball. Get on outta here."

Because Marshall and Pearl make more sense. Jay Wright has been extremely successful at Villanova, and I doubt their fan base/boosters/AD would want to see him go. Whereas Marshall seems to be looking for a bigger program to jump to from Wichita for his last big pay day and as Tennessee fans, most of us at least, have a soft spot for Bruce Pearl for what he did for out basketball program.

Villanova was a 1 seed this year, no way Wright jumps ship.

I preface this with just for discussion....if Pearl could pick today with no contract obligation between AU and Tenn, which is it?

He's a Nova guy. Even turned down the 76ers a few years ago. Wife was a cheerleader at Nova, he's not leaving.

I have no idea, but if he is smart, his buyout will not be much relatively speaking. Why would he strap himself to Dayton for 7 more years with a huge buyout?
I agree but Dayton has control over a buyout along with miller so they can benefit more than he can. He will get bought out and Dayton knows that. It will be a big time school as well that does it. He's taken them into the elite eight and is a great coach. His buyout will be 3 million or so and I don't know if we can buy him out and pay him.
