Looking more and more like DeBord will be the new OC

Nice insight on Debord.

The traditionally "Nega" crowd seems to be ready to jump off the ledge if this hire is made. Odd.

Either way...it's Butch's system and his philosophy. Doesn't matter who it is as long as he can recruit.

Really? If that's the case then why we're so many people blaming Bajakian for the offensive play calling and not Butch?

The OC matters. ALOT.

That's the problem with Bajakian and most guys that have their eyes on NFL. They are the guys that don't recruit or don't like it.
DeBord has had too many years in NFL. I doubt his recruiting skills are spectacular.

Agree with that. A good offense recruits itself. Would think the coach would want to be in the kids living room.

Per sources, Mike Debord leading for Vols OC opening. Also added would be bad if Azzanni named OC due to some players' relationships.

I want to know more about this. Is Azzanni not very popular with our players?

I think there are people who are not really thinking about the recruiting side of the OC hire. Debord has been away from coaching for 8 years. Is there any evidence at all that this guy can recruit at an SEC level?

I'm going to hope that Butch is just calling a few buddies to "interview" before landing an exciting hire.

I personally don't even think Azzanni is in play for OC. I could be wrong of course.

Interesting not sure. Wonder if he(Butch) thinks Martinez, Thig and Gillespie can get it done.

A rising star type hire would have been in kids houses for the past few years and have built relationships. Maybe they would even pull a few recruits with them. This guy has been working in an office as an admin.

People were pissed because he wouldn't stretch the field. A ton of WR screens or jet sweeps.

Not because of the offense itself.

I think a monkey could call a better game. That offense has much more in it than we've seen.

Essentially all the OC has to due is be competent and recruit just a little.

Jake did neither well.

I can only hope it's not DeBord, I've been through enough idiotic coaching hires with the 49ers and their lunacy.

CBJ is going to hire someone he has a history with that will rubber stamp his offensive scheme (basically be his yes man) like CMB was. Anyone that thinks he's going to hire an established OC with his own philosophy and ego is kidding themselves. CBJ is a control freak, if you haven't noticed that by now, you haven't been paying attention.
