Fulmer Returning; Cut on Deck; Chavis in the Hole

This may be the only option the Vols have to keep Cut at this stage. If they're not willing to do it, then we're losing a great coach.

There are plenty of better coaches that would walk through fire to get an OC job at UT.

Dorrell was just as successful at UCLA as Cut was at Ole Miss. Dorrell might be able to inject a little excitement. Cutcliffe isn't the most exciting guy. He's not going to add anything to that program.

i'm sure it was very exciting for bruin fans to watch a winless notre dame team get their first victory this year in the rose bowl. how many bowl games did dorrell win at ucla? his talent level at ucla was greater than cut's at ole miss and he did less. i'm not taking up for cut but dorrell's terrible and if i had the choose one of two, cut would be the easy choice.

Dorrell put together a 10-2 team. That's better than anything Cutcliffe did with a 1st overall pick slinging the ball.

look at his overall body of work, it's disgusting. also, i'll take the bruins overall talent over ole miss with a overrated qb known mostly because of his brother anyday.

yeah, but MBA93 says he's the best. how do we ever replace the best?

It would probably be best if UT just closed down the football program. We could change this site to DevilNation and then all go cheer for Duke. They'll be winning a national championship within three years, after all.

nah, MBA said 5

i'm not saying that he his the best. i'm only saying that it is an insult to compare him with someone that should be a high school coordinating coach.

I believe I said he was the best for the program at this point in time... and he was.

But, BPV will just twist whatever you say, spit out something stupid, and then use personal attacks to defend his position. He's got an incredible inferiority complex for someone who can contribute something sometimes.

Cutcliffe was the best for the UT program 2 years ago like a band aid is the best remedy for a guy that just swallowed a grenade.

I'd say you're the one in the more indefensible position. You've been bandying about you're little train for a coach who hasn't won anything meaningful in 9 years. Moreover, you haven't made a lucid point since you've been here. If your drivel required twisting to make you look silly, I'd twist away, but you do plenty of damage yourself. I don't want credit for your looking silly.

By the by, resorting to some 9th grade psychology lesson is worse than your football discussion. I'd step off in another useless direction if I were you.

That was point in the other thread about O. He's no long-term solution.

What do you think about Kippy?

I'm trying to listen.

Yes.

Both Coach K and Kool-Aid!
appreciating Coach K, I can understand. The Kool-Aid line on UT is silly. You act as if my wanting change somehow hurts the football program. I don't have a frickin' voodoo doll or anything.

any chance he'll take chavis and slade with him?

seriously, after the opponents hung 1500+ yds. and an ungodly number of points on the vols in three games, i was hoping fulmer would can their butts. but, i got to admit, the defense outplayed the offense the last four games. whether that is a reflection on our offense, i don't know. i just hope that next year, it is not mid-november when chavis realizes he's got a job to do.

what on earth are you talking about, we had a bandwagon headed to Atlanta.

I'm not really excited about him. He didn't do a very good job with the Texans. I think he's doing OK for the Lions. I'd rather just get someone outside the UT family. I think that would be best for Fulmer. If he brings in another UT guy and he's not successful... People are going to think Fulmer can do nothing but hire UT guys. And if that's the case, he needs to go.

I agree 100%. Let's get away from the guys that look at CPF as Father UT Football. While any OC would have to defer to Fulmer to some degree, that type does so wholeheartedly.

Tennessee hired UT guys before Fulmer was in charge. Remember... Coach Johnny Majors.

I remember him. He had just won a national championship when we hired him. Hard to fault that one.

But it wasn't all about his NC. It was about "When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again... Hoorah..Hoorah."

It was a return to Orange after our run with a Bammer guy.
