That's patently false. Jennings is as legit of a QB prospect as most any in this class. In fact, if I had to chose between Jennings and Francois as a QB, I'd take Jennings all day, every day. Heck...if I would take Jennings over Dormady, if it came down to just those two.

The audio you linked saying we aren't pursuing Gibson says he is still on campus and we still are after him.

Really? Maybe you could provide some links to prove your statements. Or is it just conjecture? Do you even know why they said that about being our first QB? Because Jennings is listed as an athlete. I guess you didn't know that. If JJ was listed as a QB then they would have said what you said.

JJ has said he was told BY THE STAFF....not Hubbs or anyone else....that he was recruited as a QB. Can it get anymore simple than that?

Callahan CB'd Dormady to UT. Rucker never made a prediction. Hubbs and Fortenberry work for a Rivals affiliated site so they don't get to make Crystal Ball predictions.

Not sure what your point is with that.

My point is these recruiting services do a lot of speculating, just like we fans do. They are wrong as frequently as they are right.

So if Gibson were to commit to Tennessee today we should just assume it's as a WR? I mean Rivals/VQ does list him as an ATH.

I think Butch still takes him if TG wants in. Why gamble for a 2016 top QB if you can have a 2015 top passing QB and the #1 2015 DT QB? You really think he'd turn away the #1 QB on his board if he wanted in? I heard swain say that Dillon Bates and TKjr are still with him today, still recruiting him. We've already seen Butch take "more than he should" when he took Dobson & Ferguson.

Is that what you meant? It doesn't say he was it at qb or that we are only taking two. It just says the coaches see him as someone who COULD POSSIBLY be the qb of the future. Not that he is the qb of the future. Not the last qb we take this year either. I have never disputed he is talented. But this still backs me up. We took QD , he is good prospect and a sure bet to come here. We still want TG though.

I linked to the audio to show how aloof Callhan really is. He's not counting on Jennings as a QB, and that is 100% contrary to what Jennings has been told by the staff.

What's more is, Jennings attended the Arsenal QB camp, and everything I've heard in reference to him is that he has grown as a QB, and impressed everyone.

If you go back and read the post with that link, I'm not using it as a source to backup my opinion. I'm referring to it as one such media source that keeps making this ridiculous assumption that Jennings isn't really a QB recruit, but a safety.

They have no basis for that. JJ was told by the staff that he was recruited as a QB. Can't get any more conclusive than that.

That wasn't your point., You are deflecting. Your point was we are not after Gibson and have shut down qb recruitment.

We planned on taking two QBs from the start. Then Ferguson spilt which forced the Dormady move. It's not far fetched to make room for a 3rd QB in the form of the #1 DT QB in the United States of America. There's no way in hades Butch Jones can turn down Gibson. The question isn't and has never been whether or not the coaches seriously want Gibson on the team. The question is and has always been whether or not Gibson wants to be a Vol. It's not like we're loaded at QB after this season anyways especially if someone gets hurt or transfers.

How do you get to decide what my point was? :loco:

I said there are many saying that our recruitment of TG isn't over....and to justify it, they falsely claim that Jennings isn't really a QB commitment. That's a bogus claim, because the staff told Jennings all along that he was/is being recruited as a QB.

That gives us 2 QB's for this class...period. I'm sorry if you cannot accept it, or cannot do simple math, but you'll find out soon enough that it's the reality of the matter.

We are done with our QB recruiting....period.

It's a much better idea to space out the QBs class wise. Less likely you lose kids to transfer in year 2-3 if they are spread out. It's just common sense recruiting 101.
